If you don't rate him I would rather stick with Charlie.  See if he gets over his second year blues.

If Charlie Spargo makes it I will gladly do a Nudie run carrying Uncle Bitters on my back.

Not up to it and Never will be!!

Does anyone else get the feeling that if it were going to be announced tonight it already would have. They're getting to the main part of the night, and I doubt they would want anything overshadowing it.

Unless he is up for one of the awards.

There's one to bookmark Uncle @Bitter but optimistic

When was the last time someone actually got up on BnF night and announced their contract status?

Highly doubt it's ever been done?

Don't think he'll have played enough games.

Not that it's any indication of Best and Fairest result but he was Top 5 in Brownlow votes.

Dayne Beams announced he was staying at Brisbane’s BnF, then requested a trade days later haha.

I'll put my neck out there and say we've got him over the line. Along with Tomlinson and Langdon. No sources, I just don't think Mahoney would have said anything if they weren't already over the line.

Just great. So no matter what happens tonight we'll be none the wiser. :P

That was my first thought ha.

In fairness he was asked about all those players and didn't bring them up. Having said that I have no doubt that Tomlinson and Langdon will be Dees next week. Elliott I'm not so convinced. Think he'll end up caving and staying with the Pies.

I'll take that lol

There was an article yesterday that mentioned he was going on holidays on Saturday and that a decision was likely before then. He again met with his  management and the Collingwood list manager today according to Mark Stevens on Twitter and that Pie insiders were confident. Well tomorrow is Saturday and no announcement has been made. If he wins an award tonight I'd expect to hear him commit on stage. Collingwood like a showcase.

If Elliott announces he’s staying followed by saying “I love youse all” then he’s gone.

Finds the side exit locked, having to backtrack across stage again. Spies a cheese platter on a front table, snatches it. Vintage cheddar filling gob, sings Grand Old Flag, does the panning out money gesture, moves to front entrance. 'FU Buckley'

I was thinking the Kenny Powers love dance in there somewhere

Longer we go without hearing of a decision the more likely is he's leaving Collingwood imo.

No news is good this late in the piece I suppose

Regardless of whether we land him or not as has been mentioned on other threads by others and myself, I would also like to get if we could through the draft young Kysaiah Pickett or similar with a second round pick.

It's almost got to the point where, if their name ends in Pickett, Rioli or Jetta and they are available at your pick............you just take them!

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.
