He's actually had a very good year with the power this year so i'd 100% be asking the question. has some attributes as a player that would suit us. i think he'd come at a good price as well.

i'd be all for it.

Amon to that.

He'll go to St Kilda..

That's how it works right?

3rd or 4th rounder at best.

I'd say they'd want a second rounder but our pick 38 should get it done i would have thought.

ANB interested in a flight home..?

Interestingly, things have gone quiet on the contract front for him after the news a month or so ago.

no...rediculous.

We already have Baker, Dunkley, JKH, Stretch, Brayshaw, Hunt, Jordan, Kolodjashnij, Sparrow, C Wagner

we don't need Amon, Langdon or Hill.....we just need to administer a game plan where these players are utilized effectively.

K Amon : averaging 19 disposals @ 75% efficiency & 4 turnovers per game & .5 goals per game.

1 of those players has shown enough to be considered best 22, and he's just had a horror year where he's been shown up when played on the wing. This is next level head in the sand stuff.

what a great idea.....

Let's go & recruit 'more of the same players' If you think Karl Amon is the answer to our issues then you should probably  give it away.

The real issue runs deeper than this discussion & I think you know that. Until our game plan & style changes then the full value of all our players will not be recognised.

Not recognising the real problem is next level head in the sand stuff.

We have to turn our list over, the players that we have that you think might fill that role have either run out of chances, are young and ultimately unproven. We need far better players on our list and i would think Amon is a far better player that all those mentioned.

Would be a yes from me.

I agree D3......we certainly need to turn the list over, but, in my opinion, until the main issue is addressed, the MFC wont be a better performing unit. Would K Amon be a good inclusion.....maybe, but he's part of a much better side in Port Adelaide where they have an attacking style of play & play a team orientated brand of footy.

Good points Goat and i think its a bit of Chicken or the egg ta the moment with this team and that's the problem. Is game falling down because of players that cant execute, or are players falling down because game plan isn't suited. the conundrum was that it was only a year ago that this plan and the execution thrust us into a prelim.

You realize we can BOTH trade in players AND work on the game plan yeah?

And if you think any of Baker, Dunkley, JKH, Stretch, Brayshaw, Hunt, Jordan, Kolodjashnij, Sparrow, C Wagner are the answer for us on the wing then be prepared for 2019 take II.

Yes I do think our wingers can come from that group. That's the whole point of my argument.....

I guess we will have to wait & see what the 'powers to be' do re the list, the game plan & the 2020 season.

Fair enough mate, that's how you see it, I see it differently. That's footy hey.

I think the list and the game plan are in for change this offseason. Cheers.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
