Pick 3? What to do with pick 5 after we wipe the floor with Horse & Rice Sure. These late season wins that we're all cheering (not tanking) for are coming yeah?

Edited by John Demonic

its a horrible position to be in again so quickly having to look the argument of winning v not winning again in the eyes. Mark my words, Sydney have out the cue in the rack, they dont want to win, so this week will be interesting. We wont beat Nth in Tassie anyway so that not a problem, Shaw has lost 4 of his last 5 games, so as newly appointed coach, after having his club kick 1 goal for the match, he will want to finish strong.

Our selection this week will be fascinating. Will a Chandler or a Bedford get a run in a game we dont really want to win?

If we miss out on Anderson and Rowell, then lock these names as ones to watch for our next pick, Caleb Serong, Lachie Ash, Hayden Young, Sam Flanders.

Fix the midfield

pick 2 Anderson or Rowell

pick 3 Green

trade anyone (bar Max) for Coniglio and ZJones

Hey @grey wolf, I'm not a fan of Zac, what do you think he can bring to the side

I heard somewhere that there is some AFL rule saying we must use our first round pick this year because we haven't used it lately.  Can't trade it.  Does anyone know if this is really a thing or not?

Is Sam Flanders Ned's son??

You can't trade your future first round pick three times in a row.

As we now know the worth of the pick not sure if the rules will still apply?

We could trade for an injured star defender - would that be novel?  Third time lucky?

Very misunderstood rule. From a piece on afl.com.au last year, Melbourne "can do as they wish with their first-round pick in the 2019 AFL trade period, including offloading a future one, because they have used at least two in the preceding four year period". I personally reckon that if the Suns receive a priority pick that bumps us to no. 3, we should just shouldn't bother with the draft, Anderson looks the only kid that would really satisfy our need for a skilful outside runner and we can probably find that with our range of picks.

The eyes of everyone in the AFL world will be on this game to see what we conjure up. Some interesting match ups were certainly manufactured to the detriment of our overall productivity on Saturday, i.e Gawn tagging Grundy and our best ball user Salem tagging Sidebottom. Plus Oscar is still getting a run.

Going to be very hard viewing that's for sure. To be or not to be, that is the question on Goody, the board and the supporters lips this Friday Night.

Sorry, but Z Jones is a NQR for me.

Thanks for clarifying.  I am far too lazy to look it up.

With Jack Martin and Peter Wright out of favour at the Suns I reckon we could make a run at those two. Wright is a goal a game player in a team that barely gets the ball in their forward half and is a dominant marking presence that could take some of the heat of McDonald. Martin seems a bit hit and miss but shows some brilliance and could be a decent wing/forward option. What they're worth together? I genuinely have no idea, but maybe next years 1st round could get that done if we reckon we're not a steaming pile of garbage then.

Would definitely go for Ed Langdon, adds that extra pace and bobs up and kicks goals - not the greatest field kick but works both ways extremely hard. Definitely a 2nd rounder for him, and if Brad Hill wants to come to us as well - take both of them for a 1st. While we're at it delist/trade the absolute deadwood to clear space - oscar mac, ANB, wagners.

It seems like I'm one of the few, but I'd take a punt on Harley Bennell. Offer him a 1 year deal paying him a packet of chips and see if he can get himself right. Downside is minimal if he doesnt get on the park, potential upside is enormous.

  • CASEY: Coburg

The Casey Demons returned to their home ground which was once a graveyard for opposing teams but they managed to gift the four points on offer to Coburg with yet another of their trademark displays of inaccuracy in front of goals and some undisciplined football that earned the displeasure of the umpires late in the game. The home team was welcomed by a small crowd at Casey Fields and looked right at home as it dominated the first three quarters and led for all bar the last five minutes of the game. In the end, they came away with nothing, despite winning everywhere but on the scoreboard and the free kick count.

The Demons were wasteful early before putting the foot down early in the 2nd quarter but they chased tail for the remainder of the match. They could not get their first use of the footy after half time and when they did poor skills, execution and decision making let them down.
