And, they used to play with only 16 players per side on the ground, with no wings.  Wonder if the AFL have ever considered that as part of a congestion-busting strategy?

Barrie!  Shh!  Bloody Gil and his Shocking mate are surely looking for their next raft of rule changes “to stamp their mark on the brand” (is that appropriate corporate speak?) and may take inspiration from your idea.

So why no mention from MFC about his absence? He's certainly not on an injury list.

Has anyone considered that perhaps he has taken some of the personal vilification he gets to heart and may be suffering like few of us could appreciate?

Further perhaps this at least in part explains the otherwise inexplicable crash in form of his bro?

I tried to make the same point in an earlier post. Demonland posters can be a cruel and beastly lot.

Precisely. Absolute silence from the MFC about his disappearance. I suspect the worst, namely he's not doing too well. If that's the case I wish him all the best and I have no doubt the armchair experts on this site, the same manic naysayers who comment on and foretell the worst case scenario on gameday posts would have contributed to any lack of confidence he might be experiencing.

Running laps at training on Monday. Injured but not sure of the problem.

Weid (past weeks)  and Oscar get dropped from the seniors then all of a sudden they ended up being injured. Is there no end to the B.S that goes around the MFC.

I played cricket there for Sunshine against Coburg round the time they hanged Ryan. The umpire gave me out LBW when I plainly wasn't out, even the bowler admitted it after the game, but the next week my captain dropped me way down the batting list again and said I'd had my chance against Coburg.

Ryan hung - Dieter crucified!

The week before I' made 39, had to hole out at 4 o'clock to get to my cousin's wedding...

The captain never liked me. This was the late mid 60's, Germans weren't supposed to play cricket and I'm sure that had something to do with it.

Wont happen

Imagine the uproar from the AFLPA having 2 players getting paid less

The afl is all about milking dollars not about the game

Any coverage of the game today, other than our brilliant DL roving reporters?

Hope this fog lifts for the early start.

Casey radio showing coverage of the VFL game between Werribee and Williamstown... strange..
