The debate was on...  some years ago,  Pre Jnr's time in the Sun.

I think Snr...  and I always did think so.

...   enjoy.  some,  old fashioned  'footy',  and skills.

He really had this incredible center of gravity. Mark and kicking ability that was just extraordinary at times. Would walk into any team today. One of the best ever.

The man was incredibly powerful thru his core...  imo, from his genes.

His family tree had generations of wood-choppers...  tree felling,  the hard way.

Snr by a mile for me, just for the conditions he played in. Wet, muddy, windy.... he did it all

Really ICGAS.

This a Geelong forum?

Ablett Senior makes Buddy Franklin  look average in comparison.

He was incredible.

Who cares. I don't come here for cattery chit chat, off with this threads head.

Snr is the greatest ever. He still would be if he played today.

Jnr was/is brilliant in a game that is different he gets more possessions than anyone, uses the ball well and kicks lots of goals for a midfielder but has nothing on the old man.

Snr was the most talented to ever play the game and was probably what the game is all about. However the consistency of Jnr and professionalism is now what the game is about. The problem is though there have been many players like Jnr and although he may be one of the best there has NEVER been a player like Snr.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
