Fair suck of the sav. Petracca close to the 6 DL POTY votes IMO, if I could be bothered voting.

We have no good players. Voting is a joke this year.

Normally playing for us, Kent would have pulled a hammy by half time or had some collision injury. Just our luck, he was always a potentially dangerous half forward in a dominate side, but he always got injured when he looked like hitting form.

Yep....its the law of angry traded player that dictates they play a blinder against the club that traded them. Kent has a big heart but too m any injuries. Although Lever and May have had issues too. Lets face it....its a bloody crap shoot.

[censored] call. Continues to try his heart out and is creating assists for his team mates every week. Playing in our forwardline would be pretty horrible the way we bomb it in long to Preuss every time.

The stab wasn’t on Petracca, it was on our list management. Who probably would trade out Trac for another defender who can’t get on the park. 30 year old with dodgy knees Rance could be a good target.

So... yeah.

Only saw the first 15 minutes or so and had to go by little bits and pieces and looking at the stats as I was out for dinner.  Great night to go out by the way.  Seems like I missed another wonderful performance.

I won't read the posts prior to this, as I'm sure some people will have necked themselves already, but it's clear we've got some serious issues.  You can single out players, but if you go by what has come before today, there are issues with our game plan, especially at the 'G.

But I've moved on.  Not even close to upset or annoyed.  It's not that important right now.  I won't begrudge anyone their anger and I'm not saying it's wrong to feel that way.  In fact, it's probably wrong for me to feel almost... indifference?  But that's the way it is.  It probably helps that I didn't see the game to be honest.

The sun will come up tomorrow when my daughter thinks the Easter Bunny has come, and that's all that matters.

Your daughter's faith in the easter Bunny kind of sums up Demon supporters...

Stability...  he showed he can coach last year.   And the players were listening.

But the trouble now is injuries to our elite running players...  and poor form because of the changed nature of 2019 AFL footy.

Our structures are no longer holding up,  as they require ANB and TMC and Viney and Jones,  and all the other young midfield brigade,  working as one.

Viney Jones, TMc,  are all playing injured to some degree,  and IMO Gawn is not playing as well as last year,  getting around the ground.

Our half-forwards aren't helping much in defence, and we are stuffed.

Maybe the footy gods are looking after us,  before we ruin everything, failing at the finish line... because of not getting the talent we require.  And  everyone can see we need to get the quality running players thru the Mid ground.

.

From a purely risk management point of view, 4 years seems generous but I guess we’ll see

im doubtful but will happy to be wrong

Look at who posted it, Nash.  The bloke 'aint the sharpest tool in the shed.

I know, but honestly. He was one player who had a bloody go today and it frustrates me when there’s about 15 targets well worth potting that people just resort to their usual go-tos whether it’s warranted or not.

Well when will he try his heart out on the training track,  and away from the club during the week when running between training sessions...  and with Regard to his diet,  and his weight ?

When will hew lose weight and get back some agility,  and some speed back,  and some endurance.

He is a defensive liability.   And like a ship up forward,  trying to maneuver.

FFS, there are loads of problems, but Petracca certainly ain't one of them. He's actually one of the only players in at least decent form and doing his part.

He is certainly putting in but a forward must kick goals from 20m out or not present for the ball.

The pot was probably at Mahoney who will trade him for peanuts

I totally agree, mate.  But that's what you expect.  After a game like today posters will attack every player and also claim that every player we have traded out or cut would have made a difference and are absolute guns.  Regular as clockwork.

I don’t buy in to the emotive crap, no heart, passengers etc etc.

There have no doubt been some really bad performances (Lewis, Spargo, McDonald, Jones etc), but this is so clearly coaching to me I’m astounded others don’t see it.

Structure, selection and game day. It appalling and questions must be asked!!!

We have no structure at all or if we do it's impossible to tell what it is. We look completely lost just forever under pressure. Our key forwards can't mark (TMac has been terrible all year, Weideman still has a way to go).

We look like an Auskick team at times just crowding each other, playing hot potato with the footy. In all our games bar last week the opposition have literally run rings around us.

Goodwin is safe but our assistants should be very worried. Our recruiters need to add pace and skill to our mandatory contested ball winning ability.

I still think we're missing Hannan and Vandenberg a hell of a lot as those link up players through half forward, that's where we've been breaking down. But the ball use from half back has not been great. Oliver has regressed a bit, Viney was trying his guys out but finding it difficult to have any impact. Salem must be leading the BnF no-one else has been anywhere close to his consistency and class.

He kicked it straight over the goal umpire’s hat about 45 seconds after the miss.

That was a bad miss, but he made amends about 60 seconds later from the same spot. I've seen better players than Petracca miss the same shot from time to time.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
