I've been very impressed with Steven May and I cannot wait to see him run out in the red and blue come Round 1. Kudos to the recruitment staff for getting this done now before the vultures swooped. We got a huge asset to our backline and the team.

Didn't know he was a pilot to boot. Another tick from me.

Love that Lever was on his case about coming to the club. I suspect the same would have gone on with Max and Preuss. Says a lot to me that these guys want solid teammates around them and are welcoming challengers into the fold.

I much prefer recruiting May over Gaff, lets say.

100% agree. He has a steely resolve and love the quality of the person. His potential is huge considering the Talent he has around him at the MFC this year. He has mentioned in the past how he'd love to play in the style of Alex Rance but was limited due to the young backline at the Suns. How exciting!

Indeed, sounds like a quality person. You can’t underestimate the impact on a footy club with the likes of this type of person coming on board. Another leader on and off the field. Exciting stuff.

I'd much prefer both given that Gaff would have been a free hit through FA and it wasn't one or the other.

I think we can cover Gaffs skills, more than May's.

I think Harmes improvement, and Spargo, Fritta, etc,  we might have lost some interest in Gaff, which we might have had for him during 2017...

Salary cap spent elsewhere, I presume.

I'm very happy with how we are recruiting, over the past few years.  and still happy, agreeing with all the outs... and Ins.

Now we are slowly becoming a hardened tough unit of men...  only a couple yet to show they are men... yet.

Was great to hear of his respect for Nev and Hibbo (the new Rod Grinter).  It was mildly impresive that he has memorised his new team mates numbers in realitively quick time.  Sounds like this era's Danny Hughes is settling in well.

All up, I actually thought it was a really well put together segment.  ...mostly fluff, but it all sounded really articulate, intelligent and genuine comming from May - how did this guy get to become a footballer and a backman at that??!!

Don’t worry,  it won’t take him long to find out what a beauty number 31 is.

Fully agree, however I sincerely doubt the words 'quality', 'person' and 'Alex Rance' should ever be seen in the same post, let alone postcode.

Kolo will have you quickly forgetting that Gaff was even a possibility.

Every photo I have seen of May kicking his ball drop is exceptional. Will be a handy kicker for us this year.

It would be OK if the word 'not' was also in there ...

Looking sharp in a Demons jumper.

Best looking guernsey in the AFL.  Carlton's a close second.

Be still my beating heart. A) he looks unreal in it and B) how good does that jumper look. The dark blue is exceptional.

May and our defence (if they all stay healthy) will be the difference during the season and deep into finals.

He strikes me as a combination of Rod Grinter and Neita, I’m not sure why.

A bit like ours, it depends on which version.

That cleaner version with the rounded off monogram they wore from 1998 onwards seemed a bit artificial for mine.

As for ours, our current strips are perfect. The red and blue from the late 80's to mid 90's and the royal blue for an occasional nostalgia trip.

I haven't seen a player warm up to a club as much as May. He generally looks excited and it shows through his involvement in the media as well as his videos he does with the club. Will be a passionate general down back. Awesome pick up.
