I'd like to float the idea that its now time to update our jumper to the Redback, that is with the full red on the back as has been trialled

To me the  main advantages are that 1 It just looks so much more colourfull and aggressive especially on tv

2 we don't appear to have attracted a stick with us sponsor for a while with the blueback ,orange looks terrible

Time for us and the bullies to tell the AFL to F off and pick another colour for themselves

Leave the jumpers alone. Our home jumper is easily the best in the league. Our royal blue clash is the best alternate jumper we have ever had and i cant think of a better idea. At least its red and blue. No white rubbish like in previous years. Our two jumpers should never change again from now on imo.

For once, I'm entirely happy with the jumpers. Keep the red back when we play the Doggies but beyond that, I'm a big fan of the disco blue for our other away fixtures when we clash.

Out. Some things are tradition and while I like the red back it’s time to say a big ‘F off’ to the people who keep suggesting change in the game for no reason.

WTF are you on about

The MFC home jumper looks awesome

Why do we have to change everything every year???

GO AWAY....

Stood through many a late foggy winter afternoon at Junction Oval etc - last quarter both sides caked in mud and everyone wearing dark shorts.

Never any problem distinguishing our boys from the not dissimilar attired “Maroons”.

Current jumper is spot on and should never be changed.

If we gotta concede to City Hall for away strip, Swoop Northey’s colour TV outfit will suffice. Always think of Robbie when Jones has it.

I think we've finally actually got the colour mixture right for our home jumper, the navy blue is so dark it's nearing black but still clearly blue and the red is a proper blood red to contrast with it.

Keep the redback for the away/alternate strip.

I prefer the red back jumper to us wearing white Bali clash singlets any day, but it is definitely still a third preferance behind the traditional and royal blue.

I actually find the all red back looks a little strange from side on, a bit like it's two different jumpers sewn together up the middle of the sides.  I almost prefer a totally inverted predominantly red jumper with either a navy blue V or MFC logo in the rare instances where both our traditional or royal blue jumpers were not given the ok but the league.

Personally, I thought the red in our 2018 jumper was a touch too orangey. I'm not looking for any major changes, but would like the red to be a little darker.

I'd like to see the yoke a little bit bigger so that the AFL and sponsor logos sit within it so you can clearly see the whole yoke design.

Yes agree with this - the vee starting at where ANB's armpits intersect the sleeve like on Robbie's jumper would be an improvement IMO.  But keeping the current deeper vee shape.

I like the 2010 jumper but with a slightly sharper and deeper yoke for me.

The three options we have atm are by far the best we've ever had since the AFL brought in clash jumpers.

I will be [censored] if we change them!

100%. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the current jumper. If anything, the V could be deeper, but that's about it. That example of the Robbie Flower jumper above is completely inaccurate of what MFC jumpers looked liked at the time. You only need to look at the guy behind flower to see that the V was not wide and under the armpit at all. Refer to this image for accurate representation. The only reason that it looks like that is because of the construction of the longsleeve jumper and wool being the fabric.

  • PREVIEW: West Coast

It was bad enough that the Melbourne Football Club created yet another humiliating scenario inside its wretched season at Marvel Stadium last Sunday, but the final insult is that it has been commanded to return to the scene of the crime to inflict further punishment on its fans this week. Incidentally, if this match preview, of a game that promises to be one of the most unattractive fixtures in the history of the game, happens to cut out of your computer screen three quarters of the way through, it’s no coincidence. I’ll be mirroring the Demons’ lacklustre effort against St Kilda from last Sunday when they conceded the largest last quarter turnaround for victory in the history of the game.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.
