So true.

I do wonder if they will trade 23 and 2019 1st rounder to move up order. Seems this draft will see some great player drop through so maybe not a consideration.

Still have big tickets on Jordan Clark , would be good to grab him as an understudy to Hibbard.

Looking forward to tomorrow, not as much as in the past 7-10 years. That maybe due to the fact we made the final this year.

God just remembered we did that without Lever in the back line too. Shite, if weeds and tmac hit their straps and petracca gets a rocket we could be one frightening team! Definitely flying over for the first game next year. And the last game of the AFL final series!

I'm definitely good with the idea of trading a 2019 first rounder for a late-ish 2018 (say mid teens) and possible swap of our pick 28 to enable us to potentially pick 3 players before bidding for Toby Bedford. Not sure if this can be arranged but it would definitely add interest for tomorrow night/Friday morning.

One additional reason to trade out next years 1st round for this years draft is that from next year we may be looking at trades for some players in which we will require an early pick for.

Im only thinking that if things are going very well from next year, we will encounter salary cap issues along the way.

Or simply our  2019 1st Rnd pick, for a late 2018 1st Rnd pick, and maybe  some small change... keeping our P28.   Some clubs with many early picks, might like to spread them out, entering the 2019 draft, with extra's ?

How about GWS’ pick 11 and 52, for pick 23 and next years 1st rounder?

That's interesting, you mentioned GWS's P-11... as i browsed the draft order last night, and imagined P-11 as being dee-sirable, and maybe getable ??

Now you post this.  Its like a sort of dejavue for moi.

Does anyone think we might package up picks 23 & 28 for an early-mid teens pick during tomorrow nights draft?

I think we need 2 or 3... U-18's introduced onto our list...  to follow thru behind our young guns, of Viney Oliver Angus, etc.

I'd be starting to form that second wave of newbies, as I've stated before earlier in the season... to come on behind our new breed.

And coincidentally, just as Jason Taylor has just indicated on the Demons website... needless to say, I do like the way JT operates.

I think we're in great hands, between him and Viney Snr.

... maybe something like this ?

GWS give us they're 2018  P-11...  & they're 2019 2nd Rnd pick.

D's give GWS our 2019 1st Rnd pick...  & our 2018 P-28... & our 2019 3rd Rnd pick

I wouldn't mind bidding on these players,,, from their part of the draft... P10 - 20 ish.

After the first round I believe the discount becomes 197 draft points

So pick 54 can match any pick up to 41 straight up.

Adding in pick 61 allows up to match any pick up until 34.

Sydney have 26, 33, 38, 39, 40 most of which will be swallowed up by 1 player.

North have 42, 47, 48, 49 and 58 most of which will be used on 2 players.

Collingwood have 41, 44, 57, 59 and 60 to use on 2 players.

Pick 54 and 62 will likely end up as something like pick 48 and 53. When added to a discount that's enough to match pick 26

wow you are unbelievable

... any relation, lets nab 'im.

.

Here is a write up on Mr Sparrow's attributes.  sounds very Toddish.  pace, endurance, burst away speed, tenacious, fearless.

Definitely Sparrow, heard he flies down the wing!

Not a great result for us. Taylor said we wanted mids, but the quality mids expected to be around our pick all got snapped up last night. Was really hoping for O’Halloran. Seemed a very Melbourne person; competitive, leader, ball winner, explosive, hit scoreboard. GWS got a winner there.

Bytel might be one of our picks now?

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Let’s be honest, last week’s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper — second versus seventeenth — football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #32 Tom Sparrow

The rugged Sparrow’s career appears to have plateaued in recent years. He makes the side on a week to week basis but he is unable to establish a foothold in the team’s midfield and arguably performs best outside of the contest in a forward position without being a goal kicker. He remains a good honest foot soldier but is not a star.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #33 Tom Fullarton

Fullarton managed a couple of games in the first half of the season but soon found himself back in the VFL. There, he found a niche at centre half back but it was not enough to retain a place on the list at season’s end.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #35 Harrison Petty

Entering 2025, it looked as if Petty would be secured in a defensive position, but plans shifted and he spent more time forward, averaging just over a goal per game throughout the season. It remains uncertain which area of the ground he will be expected to cover under the new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The dynamic small forward, possessing an innate ability to generate excitement with his explosive play around the goals, successfully transitioned into a role that afforded him more time in the midfield. The club also negotiated a long-term deal with Pickett, thereby eliminating any prospect of a move west by their star young player.

For a few years now, he has been a reliable, hard working pressure forward, but in 2025, Chandler elevated his performance, becoming an integral component of the team with enough versatility to play effectively on a wing from time to time.
