He's getting plenty of credit in the media.  I think he has done some great things & other things very poorly.

Development of ANB & Harmes has been brilliant.

Failure to promote Frost for so long was very poor.

Failure to match up 6+6+6 ie allowing opposition to play a loose man in defence cost us games.

Coaching against St Kilda was woeful & cost us the match.

It is another click-bait headline!  The content doesn't support it!

The article is based on the 'Roosy' chant last week to build his story.  Robinson then lists everyone involved for the last 10 years and 'concludes' the headline that Goodwin isn't getting the credit.   No logic at all!

However, he disproves that 'conclusion' by quoting Roos '...we have a bloody good coach and he's doing a bloody good job'.  Robinson continues with other Roos' comments lauding Goodwin's player relationships before and after the changeover etc.

What Robinson can't see is that Goodwin is getting a lot of media kudos in the 'demons have a game plan that stacks up in September' narratives.  What better compliment for a coach!

Its a rubbish article.

Yeah, a guy into his second year of senior coaching should be doing much more than that!  To tell the truth, I'm really peeved that he didn't have us top two by season's end.  Anything less than a premiership is a fail in my book.

I think goodwin has been exceptional. The belief and steadiness of the group is palpable, and he has been the picture of optimism and calm throughout the year, win lose or draw.

Yes, he didn't have the perfect line up straight away, but he got their in the end.

Playing Gus in the VFL has been a masterstroke. Melksham as a forward, masterstroke. Harmes as a tagger, master-stoke.

Someone said Frost should have been in earlier. Frost had some very poor games last year, and the long stint in the VFL seems to have done him wonders. I love that we don't pick players until they are actually ready, such as Hunt. I can see hunt coming in mid next year and actually being ready.

Only fault is taking so long to go 6-6-6, but we don't know the in's and out's of his reasoning. The players love him, and he's got them believing, and playing our best in finals. Near flawless year from Goodwin.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
