Why we bothered taking 18 year old rucks is beyond me...

Develop 4 at Casey if you want to but don’t bother putting them on the list for 5 years before they become playable. Waste of a spot.

This 6-6-6 business which I freely admit I have no idea about could suit Garlett.

This is why the ruck position is dying.

Wrapped - covered with.

But let's face it, footy fan sites are exempt from grammar, spelling and sometimes commonsense and that is part of their attraction,

Sorry, but are you joking?

When you are extremely pleased with something it’s ‘rapt’ not ‘wrapped’.

The difference between ‘too’ and ‘to’ and between ‘their’ and ‘there’ should be obvious unless you have a serious intellectual disability.

I could go on, but as many on here appear to be close to illiterate why bother?

I’m flabbergasted that someone could reach adulthood without appreciating that not everyone is fortunate enough to be given a quality education in their formative years.

People of all different ages and backgrounds assemble here to discuss a team kicking a piece of leather around an oval shaped ground. The problem is yours. Get over yourself.

Not sure on Kent, seems to be back in favour v west coast. JKH can't seem to produce the goods and on that basis Dion could be saved. Garlett has lost the plot. Flippa may be saved at the expense of King. Bernie gone. Pedo will be gone or rookied. Tyson will be trade. T.Smith re rookied. White from Casey could be rookied same for Lockhart. Keilty possible promotion(?) Maynard delist

Garlett out:  for a small packet of Twisties.   even chicken ones.

I tend to agree.

Given we have Gawn and the way we play with him in the 22, our other ruck spots on the list should be taken by ready-to-go players. There's no point having developing beanpoles taking senior list spots when they're not good enough to play Gawn's role if he can't play.

Otherwise, draft new ruckmen when they've had 4-5 years playing VFL/SANFL/WAFL/etc.

That's what it seems like after today's performance for Casey.  Seemed disinterested and played without any heart whatsoever.  Doubt we would get the Twisties if rival clubs saw that DV8.

Had the opportunity to take Oscar Mckinerney and yet we took an absolute giraffe in Fillapovic ?‍♂️?‍♂️

I don't care, Dof... even if they're stale or open packet.

... empty packet for that matter.

I'll send the taxi around to pick him up. After training Monday.

No team can afford those players who require being wheel barrowed around the footy field, against their will.  They don't want to... we don't need them.

.

Are we finally getting better at this?

Suggested a couple of weeks back that the way the cards had fallen, that a number of players could  be playing for their careers over the next three weeks.

Might this discoslure  turn out a good thing?

Garlett, JKH and Pederson   marked their own papers last week. Maybe not totally unsurprising.

We have two more home and away games.

Are we finally drilling down into what players we have that can handle the next level?

Might know a bit more tomorrow.

I don't understand you clueless clowns who say Tyson is depth. He plays when the entire squad is fully fit. He was second Bog a couple of weeks ago and is a very consistent player of high quality. His ball usage has become close to elite recently.

Goodwin will keep him in the 22 by rejigging the squad at the end of the year. I am over the hate for Tyson. He is going nowhere. Get over yourselves!

Whilst I cannot agree with your use of superlatives, Dom has been a lot better the past few games than for the past two seasons.

And some even confuse ‘his’ and ‘he’s’. Including Tim Watson on SEN!!

Of course, not reading his script, assuming he has one, that could be more a matter of enunciation or pronunciation than grammar

If it is as I understand it, it could help our whole forward line not just Garlett (should he still be with us).

As a grammar Nazi (see above), do you mean uninterested?

Forward pockets go in and out of form ... its the nature of the position ... you do need a couple of small forwards to rotate in an out of the side depending on their form ... happy for spargo/garlett to rotate in and out of the side next season ... Garlett hasn't lost any of his pace and was talked about as AA not that long ago

Garlett hasn't lost his pace but he has lost his passion a d work rate.  He picks and chooses when he will go 4 it. He shirks any kind of contact & is now a passenger in the side. He will continue 2 let the side down  by going AWOL for large portions of the game. I'd trade him unless he takes a page out of Nev Jetta ' s book.

What about rotating Gartlett out of RednBlue.... and into RedYellow&Blue.?

It's Game Day and the Demons will be running out on the field with a new Head Coach, albeit a caretaker, for the first time in 3,060 days when they face the Western Bulldogs at the MCG today. What do you want to see from the Demons in the first match of the Post Simon Goodwin era?

  • Thank You Simon Goodwin

As Demon fans, we’ve ridden a rollercoaster of emotions over the decades; the heartbreaks, the near misses, the wooden spoons, and the endless waiting. But through it all, we clung to hope. And then came Simon Goodwin. Before he ever wore red and blue, he was a champion in his own right. A five-time All-Australian, two-time Best and Fairest, and two-time premiership hero and Captain with Adelaide, Simon Goodwin was always destined to lead. When he transitioned from the field to the coach's box, first as an assistant at Essendon, he began shaping a new legacy.

  • PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

Long ago and far away, the Melbourne Football Club replaced its coach in difficult circumstances after the team suffered a devastating loss. In the aftermath, I penned the following words: “Then came the politics, the intrigue, the axing, the sound of the football world laughing at a club, the circling of the media vultures, the reinvention of history, the anger, the irony, the pathos, the hurt on the face of the president, the dignified departure of the coach, and the determination of the newly appointed caretaker.” Today, we’re back in the same place although one difference here is that the coach who was terminated this time is Simon Goodwin, the man who four years ago

  • REPORT: West Coast

The Charles Dickens novel, A Tale of Two Cities, opens with, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, …”  This phrase highlights many of the significant challenges that humanity encounters in life, ranging from experiencing remarkable highs to living in times of despair. This is a concept that should resonate with all supporters of the Melbourne Football Club this morning as they reflect on its comprehensive 83-point victory over the struggling West Coast Eagles at Marvel Stadium. The outcome proved beyond doubt that they are the worst of clubs and that we are the best of the worst.
