Casey Demons v North Melbourne VFL - Round 14

Not gonna be a great day for the big boys at either end of the ground

Need to take 5 or more players off the ground from each side to give this game a chance. At present it is almost an irrelevancy.

Long time since I've seen a player jump the fence to get the ball !!

Loving the indigenous jumper!

Anyone know if Dees are planning to wear it for tonights game? Would be such a shame if Jeff has missed out on wearing his Aunties design again....?

Hannan looking a class above at the moment. Just using the ball better then most. Casey battling well despite the conditions.

Casey on track for 200 tackles.

Tyson, Hannan, Bugg and JKH been good around the contest. Thought Balic and the Wagner’s looked dangerous on the outside. Petty, Pedo, Keilty and Lockhart doing well in defence.

We’ll have the wind this quarter so hopefully we’ll see some more goals.

I'm hoping Wagner has a big game. I'd like to see him really push to make the best 22 before the end of the year.

I think he's got great attack on the contests/tackling and has improved his contested marking/spoiling considerably. Was unlucky to be bumped out of the team earlier in the season.

Would love to see him take over Lewis/Vince role across half back as a good user of the football but with more strings to his bow in terms of contested work then Lewis at the moment.

Out played them totally that quarter.  Be interesting to see if we can get on top this quarter.

The spots certainly there if he is good enough. Has not really had a stellar year at VFL so he's got  a way to go.

Vanders making an impact around the ball straight away after coming on. Hope for his sake that he has a great game.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
