Jetta getting absolutely pansted by a school kid.

Disappointing loss. Hogan didn't touch the ball last time we played Cwood.

Body language is down right awful.

They have switched off and I am now as well.

Very disappointing.

Collingwood way too quick. Real pity Hunt has gone backward and Frost hasn't come on.

A sad day and a reminder of why we will struggle to make the eight let alone gone to the following week. I hate Campbell brown but he was right. The bubble has burst. We are the bitcoin of the AFL. Over inflated and due for a crash. We may lose by 10 goals. No [censored] off.

Spineless. A really pathetic effort today. We well and truly earned the pretenders tag today.

20 scoring shots double ours. This game is so annoying. Sorry for rant but this was the one to take into the bye. So angry but I guess we will learn from it. No Jack watts today. Just 22 head down players letting some overrated team beat us !

lewis has been a liability today

Second to ball all day, how can Pies jog to kicker and always be 10m in front. As I’ve been saying, we’ve beaten no one for weeks

We’re better with pedo in he ruck because we know he will loose it, this can focus 100% on sharking it. Interestingly last year no Gawn, lost hit outs 65 to 14 but equaled clearances 35 a piece

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
