JDeGoo is a very good player. I'd love him but We can't afford him. Everyone's talking up the fact that we want Gaff, I want Gaff but there's no way we can get him without giving up quality. Who we getting rid of and don't say Tyson. He'd be the steak knives that Dom Barry was for Hoges.

Gaff is a free agent.

So he can just wander to any club he feels like. I got no idea on such matters.

No worries, here’s the lowdown:

Restricted free agents have the right to move to a club of their choice, subject to the current club’s right of first refusal over their services. That is, if the current club can ‘match’ the offer from a suitor club, the player must stay or enter the draft.

Thanx pal much appreciated. Still a fair bit to do then to get him over to our side but definately someone we could well do with. Outside run and he gives plenty of that.

If Gaff wants to come to us it will happen.

Do we really need Gaff?  or would it/we be better, with  a HF/Mid, who has a touch of magic inside the 50 ?

Think StevieJ.

yeaa!!

let's get it to the magic million

You do realise the other clubs play games to up the price of the retaining club

And we should be doing likewise... talk him up DJ.  The pies also want Lynch.  And no doubt, quietly would like Gaff as well.

And we should be into all of them,,,, until we see where the lye of the land is.

you don't think De Goey could add anything to us?

scorn isn't your best suit et.

So now, Dee Goey anyone ?

Forget Gaff, Jordan is the won we want.  the Roos are into him, for good reason... he's a match winner.

This season he’s basically doing what we expected Petracca to do. He’s kicked bags of goals when playing forward (5+6 goal games), and dominated in the midfield on both the inside and outside. We don’t have picks to get him, so pipe dream. Hopefully Petracca gets a rocket and follows De Goeys lead as he should be the better of the two.

Only problem I see with De Goey is that the dude can’t kick straight

I haven't watched him on enough occasions to debate that, but his recent games suggest he's adequate.?

The way I see it is this,,, Gaff has been said to be soft, & too much an outside player,,, in past seasons.  Only this season has he started to get more contested ball, and started to play inside at the bounce, etc.

Why only this year... and is this just a contract year thing for him... I like Gaff, but I want us to look far and wide this season for the right player fit for us...   Prior to us committing our last bit of salary cap space on another medium-speed midfielder.

I don't think Gaff's 'quick', by any real measure, but maybe not slow.

SO I wonder how he will add speed and a point of difference, to our midfield list?

DeGoey certainly would add some speed, and a touch of magic to our on-ball division, and the list?

Surely both would cost us similar, in terms of salary cap numbers.?

I do not think Petracca will ever be a fast Mid.

I see Petraca as more a power mid, power medium-forward.

But not so, agile and quick.

I sense DeGoey is quick by foot, and his footy mind.

So you think Gaff is quick enough, to bring us what we lack in the midfield.

... which I think is midfield speed and agility..

Did you just quote yourself and ask yourself a question?

I'm awaiting the answer with anticipation although it's probably not something uncommon for Deeluded.

Change of personnel and change of role. WCE have lost their two main clearance players from last year in Priddis and Mitchell to retirement. So Gaff is one of those filling that gap.

Agree he is not lightning but he runs both ways from pocket to pocket and does so relentlessly

As I said I like Gaff... but with our dwindling resources in the salary cap, this deecision is Crucial, to get it right.   We are very one geared.  We are very much a power geared side,,, and i want us to add an extra dimension to our run and carry.

Pace, breaks big games open.

Sure we could get De Goey, just don’t cry that we have to give up Petracca and Brayshaw to do it

We can do it, IF we want to.

Mind you it doesn't have to be DeGoey, but he has that x factor.   Whitfield, Kelly,  and no doubt others can do it.  But do they carry X factor.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
