Teams will be available on Monday according to AFL.com.

Unfortunately I can't see us winning this game. Richmond has won the past 12 or 13 games straight at the MCG and they defend it extremely well. With Hogan and Garlett being our main avenues to goal so far this season, I'm struggling to see us kick a big enough score with the likes of Rance and Astbury roaming their defence. Tigers by 5 goals.

Can’t play Frost against Tigers. They only have Riewoldt in forward line!

Interesting that none of Hunt, Stretch or Balic are in the Casey squad for the weekend.

Vince, Hannan, Garlett, Fritsch, Wagner, Bugg all in the squad so at minimum must be on the interchange from assumed for Tuesday before emergencies.

Hunt for Wagner, Balic for Bugg, Stretch misses out? Vince, Hannan, Garlett and Fritsch to play?

I think we'll lose, not because we're Melbourne, but because Richmond is just better than us atm. I'll be ecstatic if we win but I just can't see it. We were so far off it last week. I'm not angry anymore, just disappointed.

I don't think Richmond will lose games like these anymore for a while.

Richmond obviously have a great fitness team, they're hardly ever injured, its why they won last year and unless they get injuries this year, will be hard to beat for flag. Rance, Martin, Reiwoldt and Cotchin have missed 2 games between them for the last 100 games. We will not get near them on Tuesday night, it'll take a few weeks to get our game plan back together after that disgraceful effort on Sunday, confidence must be down, we need TMac and Viney back desperately.

6-7 goal loss seems reasonable at this stage. Clearly in a form slump and given the modern game I'm not convinced we can turn it around in a week. It's one thing to have an "off" week and go down by 4-5 goals. To get pumped by 70 as we did on the weekend is indicative of a form slump. In round 4. lol only Melbourne.

If you put pressure on the Tigers for four quarters and keep Martin to two goals, they are beatable.

Not sure we can do it after last Sunday, but they still only have 4 elite players. Take out Martin or Rance and after 3 weeks the holes would show!

And we have zero elite players, that’s why we’re [censored] and have a team of B grade plodders combined with a coach who’s trying to coach beyond his years and being too cute. Do agree Tigers are beatable and our best is great but who knows what we’ll dish up Q to Q let alone week to week.

Man for Man and strength for strength we match up well against the Tigers.

We also have the potential to rebound after last week's poor display.

Unfortunately the absence of Tom and Jack V will make the difference in this game. We simply are not as good as the Tigers without them.

I hate honourable losses. Hate them because they concede we are not a true match of our opposition.

l fear that is most likely how many of us will feel on Tuesday night UNLESS one or 2 or 3 of our forward guns can light up the sky. Trac, Gus, Jesse, Bayley (if selected) or even Jeffy.

Just mentioning the string if players capable of turning a game gives us genuine hope we are capable of winning it.

It ain't over until it's over.

I will trundle off to the G like very many other Dee fans, hopeful that we can show those bastards we are now a different and stronger Melbourne, not the one of recent years passed.

We've got talent all over the ground let's really hope the players are primed to deliver all they've got.

Goody is a very green coach on a steep learning curve. I hope he has opened his mind to some of the wiser heads around him to play players where they play best.

Really looking forward to this challenge of players and coach.

He's not named in the VFL team. His pace keeps him in the side.

Dont think we will win but we almost beat them last year but for spencil...smith and trac going down.

Ill be keen to see the clubs spin if we lose though. Its very creative.

The narrative has morphed into a collection of esoteric words and excuses.

What ever happened to Ricky Petterd, another who showed flashes of brilliance but no consistency, seems we are a club that this happens to a lot.

Must be development not recruiting.....

The success of Richmond isn't the quality of individual players, they had stars like Rance, Martin, Cotchin and Riewoldt for years and were still rubbish.

The difference is they play so well as a team, the star power of the likes of Martin is just the icing.

Well done to Richmond on that stat, but that really annoys me from an MFC point of view.

Under Goodwin, we have a 7-8 record on our home ground. That is simply not good enough and we  won't play finals if we lose more than we win at the MCG.

Is our game style not conducive to the G? The good news is 3 of our next 7 games are at our now beloved Etihad.

Its more than just fitness - its a total player health & welfare plan, almost every aspect of the players life is covered.

They (the Tigers) spent an absolute fortune in this area even down to buying gaming consoles - so in their down time the players can amuse themselves. Seriously everything was covered.

Its all built on the theory of body, mind & soul - based on 100% honest between club, coaches and player - during and extending to after their playing days.

But some people will tell you it was all luck why the won the flag last year - hahaha - or Neil Balme - hahaha

Is this where we have gone wrong? Our players buy their own PS4 and X-Box consoles. If you know the Toiges so well can you give us a hint on how to beat them on Tuesday?

Not a matter of going wrong - more a matter of you can only spend your money once. Tigers over the last 10 years have worked hard to build memberships, crowds and "sponsors" - all trivial stuff I know compared to fixtures, clash jumpers, songs and "hating" the AFL but we have to leave the important stuff to our MFC footy keyboard / armchair experts on Demonland.

We can beat them - you must break down their defensive structures both in the air and on the ground. Im not going to say much more - but we can beat them, we will have a red hot crack.

He was a good get, a nice decoy that actually allowed us to play a more consistent brand of footy going forward. We could use a player like him now actually.

Did the role Pederson currently fills.

Yes, I would listen far more to the Ethan type trolls - "haters". They are just upset they have no idea what is happening apart from what they read in the newspapers - such is life. Your choice.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
