Oh great it's Selwood's 250th game on the weekend.

Like the rather amusing time at Kardinia - 2 seasons ago the Cats celebrated Corey Enrights (who is a legend) 300th game or games record - pre match - (pre match, who the eff does that) as though the win was a formality. They don’t get up for their champions even at Kardinia ??

So much talk of their midfield but without Henderson and recent retirements Geelong's defence is poor

Possible line up:

Stewart   Taylor   Jones

Tuohy    Kolodjashnj   Bews

If we break even in the middle we should win this.  If Hogan is on Taylor it will be worth getting Hogan on his bike around the ground and out to the wings.  Pedo and Trac should be able to dominate in the air if we get it in quick

If that's the case, Pedo has to make Taylor accountable. That becomes a key match up.

He’s still a chance. I think there are some people at our club, myself included, that would like to be definitive now,” Scott said on Fox Footy’s AFL 360.

“I guess it’s a good sign in terms of his recovery that we’re not in a position where we can say, ‘look he’s not playing, but we think he might be right for next week or the week after’.

“He’s going well in his own mind and doesn’t want to rule it out. I think that’s a really good sign for Round 2 and 3 in particular.

“I think more and more clubs are realising that it’s best to resist the temptation to see Round 1 as the finish line; we’ve got to take a bit more of a longer view.”

That was Scott on Danger.  Makes me feel he's more unlikely than likely.

Can you imagine the noise from the feral cats fans when ablett first touches the ball

It won't be anything like the noise we'll make when Trac kicks the sealer early in the first quarter.

Right before he gets gang-tackled by our hungry midfielders and dispossessed. He doesn’t have a good record in rd1 games against us at the ‘G

Not so sure about that...I remember a few years back when him & Bennell cut us to pieces.

That was Mother’s Day 2013 wasn’t it? Still get the shudders remembering that one.

I was thinking rd1 2015 when Viney smashed Ablett in Q1 and he was hobbled for the rest of the game.

An unreliable source on fta tv last night advised that the Geelong Addie were handing out blood stained head bandages to commemorate the occasion with their next edition

I think its entirely appropriate on this esteemed occasion that he gets double frees for his ducking and weaving .

Is there no sentimentalty left in football ?

Pedo will take on that challenge, rest assured. Inspirational ...

Should a player of his eminence and standing even HAVE to duck for a free?

Surely being somewhere near the ball is enough?

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
