Why the clash strip (which I love) against the brown and gold of Hawthorn?

Marketing?

I like the away strip, apart from the 70's flashbacks.

I thought you were talking about that Preuss idiot from Norf!

It is our away strip, and it looked the business!  Ps, it is also a winning strip...

Yes. As much as I really like the new clash strip there is just something about seeing us run out in the regular strip.

I have to agree.

I’d assume it was a marketing idea by the club, given it was AFLX and neither guernsey would have clashed with the Hawks, perhaps Herr Gil left it up to the club to decide which one we wore.

I'm going with the theory that there wasn't enough time for the regular strip to be washed and tumble dried in time for the Grand Final.

Easier to clean poo and wee off the clash strip than the traditional one?

ET there are some things I can believe that is not one of them. The AFL letting a club decide something !

i think just a bit of marketing and exposure by the club plus an opportunity to get some feedback

I like the clash strip.

For jlt and aflx i dont care if they use it as the main jumper.

It looks good. I will be getting5one for sure

In action, I thought the clash strip looked sensational (of course prefer our traditional red and blue). I agree it was not needed against the Hawks, but as others have said, I hope the club sold a few extra pieces as a result.

Agree 100%. Great strip that brings with it a spasmodic shudder. This would have been a perfect option for the clash strip poll @Demonland

I'm not one to be particularly emotional with any such emblem or jumper,  but I do like the new old jumper.  I will be getting one.

Not as great as the original strip but so mush better than all our previous clash jumpers and I was really impressed with our clean hands last night...............Go Dee's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't mind the new clash strip. I have seen the great Robbie Flower play in it, and every time I see it I think of him.

I thought he was talking about Phil Scully!

i reckon the blue is just a little bit different from the earlier one and a bit better on the eye

it's a tick from me

I'm not sure it's the colour per se that is different but perhaps the fact that the material has a sheen to it and is not made of wool that may be the visual difference.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
