Set up some membership tents outside the 'G' after 5:00pm on Monday.  Irresistible!

It is not just 92 since the previous tally, but 1200 in the last week.  If we win on Monday, I expect that we will soar past 45,000 in the coming week and close in on 50,000 for the first time. It is up to the MFC (and all Demonlanders) to capitalise on our current momentum and ensure that we reach this milestone!

Makes a change from 2013 when we had to have the membership tents outside the 'G' before the game to catch people on the way in when they still had hope rather than on the way out when their dominant emotion was despair.

If they can't get a few thousand ON THE WAY IN on Monday and get close to 50k someone should call the firing squad

Can they get a few recognisable reserves players to "shake the tins" around the booth.

I'd sign up again just for that

I reckon this should be done after every win we have at the G. Even if just a couple outside Gate 2 to capture some MCC members who perhaps haven't taken up the joint membership offer.

It just goes to show what winning form and losing form can do.

We are now roughly 5000 members away from equaling Carlton, a supposed 'Big 3' club.

Their putridness have retarded their numbers while our form (for the time being) has allowed us to overachieve.

If the club can't rustle up 1355 less whatever signs up over the next 3 days (let's say 100/day, so 1055 on Monday) then heads must roll.

In fact their stretch goal should be to try and crack 50,000 COB Monday or end next week

There is no such thing as a “non member but a supporter” as you have to join the Club to support it. Maybe you are confusing them with barrackers who don’t  support the Club! Starting with your ‘family members’, perhaps if all Demonlanders enlisted 2-3 new members tomorrow (after our decisive win against Collingwood) then we will coast past 50,000 members for the first me! ?

Had we of won yesterday and gone to second on the AFL ladder, we would’ve closed in on 45,000 this week! Now even that has suddenly become a pipe dream, let alone 50K by end of July!

Are you serious? If you like to learn new stuff, move down to melbourne and work with the mfc  marketing dept.

Agree, one can only imagine what the number will be with a period of sustained success.

Is the data available anywhere? Datestamp, members.

Looks to be 28/week? (n=1 week)

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.

  • POSTGAME: North Melbourne

The Demons are finally back at the MCG and finally back on the winners list as they continually chipped away at a spirited Kangaroos side eventually breaking their backs and opening the floodgates to run out winners by 6 goals.
