Good to see footy talk in the media, instead of talking about 35 year old tennis players.

if he is out of contract we won't have to offer anything will we? Also Dusty is a restricted free agent so tigers will have the chance to match his deal.

He's not a free agent so you have to trade.

Either that or he walks out on GWS and you hope he makes through to you in the preseason draft which is no chance.

Sorry I said Martin is a free agent not Kelly

Thankyou..i resemble that :)

Well, so am i, because i reckon all is not cocha (wouldn't have to be an R Scholar to figure) at GWS. Further more i reckon we can beat them, and they are overfed and got big heads.

He would do well to be looking at us, just as Lewis did quite successfully....

Potential derail -but who would you rather - Fyfe or Kelly?

Kelly would be a better fit...

I would rather Kelly, not too sure what Fyfe's ego is like.

I'll call it..Melbourne has as much chance of a Flag before the Giants.

Yep I'm mad.....or am I ?

We;ll be up and running this year. We can beat the Giants..we actually know how... bizarre at that is..cant beat other teams we ought to but somehow we have'm worked out.

Point being.. No  team is a monty for the Granny.

They havent the miles on the board yet...one day...they will ...not yet.

Players will start coming to us...just you watch.......oh wait  ...

Who hijacked your login? Most optimistic I have ever seen you.

I reckon if you asked him.....he'd tell you !! lol

Two things about this..well probably more really

It is Sam ...so meh....caveat emptor with anything he writes,; the expression  "hit or miss" I think was coined for him.

Kelly may well choose to stay( Giants )  a while and enjoy some good footy but I do note the mention of only signing (potentially ) for another 2 years ?? That's hardly a concrete commitment. That's someone biding their time and keeping all bets open.

Happily welcome  Kelly... Fyfe....might be more a can of worms imho.

You mean like Hogan? Not many potential superstars will sign longer than 2 years unless they get an offer they can't refuse. Would be stupid to - imagine settling for $600k/year and knowing you could have got double that in years 3 & 4 if you signed for 2 instead of 4 years.

We were talking about Josh Kelly in the thread, ironically enough, titled "Josh Kelly"

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
