Seriously those calling the game over early in that quarter or even in the second need to take a chill pill!

Give em hell demons!!!

I was seriously worried. Oliver played a blinder that quarter,

Petracca has been huge today. TMac almost isn't rucking anymore, it seems to be confusing Grundy.

They have the scoring end in the final quarter

Get ANB to take Treloar out. Doesn't matter if he gets a few weeks.

"Melbourne's Clayton Oliver has six disposals at 100 per cent efficiency in the last ten minutes to be a key to the Demon's comeback"

Done not too much all day, but when needed the kid rises up. Give him a couple more seasons to get his tank 100% and develop his outside game and he'll be the champion mid we have so long been needing

A little harsh on the kid - he still has 22 touches, 13 of which are contested and 6 clearances to 3 quarter time.  Maybe he has set the bar so high now that a game like this simply seems 'average'.  Not a bad place to be in I guess.

Fresher legs after the bye in the last I'm hoping...

Only because we didnt turn up for the 2nd qrt.

Further to my earlier post, Oscar Mc has a troublesome hip. Hopefully we won't run out of steam with four players carrying some boggles.

We know how to loose the close ones

I am so nervous I am shaking at 3rd quarter time  please   gods of footy  we need this one

This has a very Hawthornesque feel to this game.

If we don't score a goal from this momentum we'll lose this

Yes but need a couple to end the contest.

Five scoring contests for one goal will cost us!!

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
