Tease!

Where did you hear this, and what, for physical or "psychological" issues?

I doubt there is anything wrong with him physically mono. There has been no explanation of "sick" that I have seen.

I alwas enjoy seeing hogan midfield   for me CHF is his spot floating mid amd even back    weid soon to be our leading FF  and roatatonf t.mac forward seems like a revolution

With watts and pedo there as the other talls  kent garlett as the forward rovers  we are on track for lots of damage

It will not be long before we completely destroy a team

We are a better balanced team with Hogan. No doubt.

What we need to do is learn to play less dumb predictable footy when he's playing. We lower our eyes and hit targets inside 50 better when he is not playing.

Absolutely   hogan straightens us up    when we are on and accurate we are going to be only more dangerous with hogan there  wherever he plays

Why even speculate about it, OD?  It does nothing but start rumours on something we know nothing about.  Until we know otherwise, and knowing what he has been through recently, I think we can do without spending our time speculating on it.

Why not WB we speculate on everything else to do with the MFC.

Is spectulaing any different on physical to other problems?

I've heard the same thing. Didn't miss cause of physical illness, will be reported on soon no doubt.

In the absence of clear news it is only natural to speculate. Although those who try to impose group think might not agree.

Trouble is Jaded, Hogan demands the ball to be dropped on his head when he is at FF

What has to change is either he stops demanding it all the time or the idiots kicking it to him dont and as you say lower their eyes

Yesterday proved hard work and fierce tackling makes everything possible including kicking a respectable score without an "Star Forward"

Hogan doesn't like leading because it takes him out of his comfort zone for kicking goals. Nearly all his goals this season are within "little league" distance and he's not much chop from 40 metres or more out on any angle. Playing high CHF where he will lead might be better value but he won't kick many goals.

It seems the same pattern emerges ...we lose ...half the team needs to be dropped ...we win ...we can beat anyone...we are a long way off our best with key personnel to come back & Hogan and Gawn are crucial...however most teams lose players & need to find a way to win & we did that & did it well...the exciting thing is that winning without star players augers well for the future but we are a developing young team & will still possibly lose another "winnable " game this year.

Whatever the illness is I feel we should not speculate as it could be a personal matter.

The more speculation on here the more likely the press will take the innuendo and make a story about it.  Or in interviews, push the club or players for explanations.  All it does is put more pressure on Jesse.

The club is protecting Jesse and his privacy, I feel we should do the same and just let it go.  That includes the posters who make 'he won't be back for a while' type comments.

I am so glad we won without him - it helps take any pressure off him to hurry back to help the team win.

He will play when he is well.

Sorry LH I don't agree with the whole censorship business. Censorship has a habit of burying issues that should be talk about.

Just my opinion!

I tend to disagree. Hogan is a player of high interest both for fans and the media. His family issue is well documented. All we know is that he took a sickie from training and vague comments he missed the flight. Would be better if the club came out straight and just said this guy is still grieving or has the flu or whatever. If its no big deal then just say it.

Agree adc, a statement ends speculation however no information raises speculation.

It's one thing winning a H&A game without a quality key forward, it's another winning a final.

As for him not playing.  Obviously, the club will assess the timing and make an announcement as it deems fit.  If, as reported, it's a minor illness I expect him back quickly, if it's not, as speculated, the club is in the best position to determine the timing of such shared information.

I want him playing, but I don't feel any burning desire to know the reasons why he didn't.

The fact that we can produce wins without one of our best players speaks volumes of how far we've come.

Hopefully he's back this weekend, he looked in great nick against the Hawks.

This is slightly different, though.  If it was about contracts, a proper injury etc then speculate away.  But as @Lucifer's Hero said, this is a personal matter and something we should allow to play it's course until we know more.  Surely Hogan deserves some respect in this situation... ?

It is, but it doesn't mean you have to.  I like how you still want to have a dig at me as well.  Can't help yourself.

My Step Mum's ashes were sprinkled into the sea yesterday.

everybody reacts differently to loss.

I hope the club makes a statement today or tomorrow about the situation to stop further speculation

Talking about whether Hogan has a physical illness or not sits uneasy with me. None of us know the situation and we shouldn't speculate at all after what hes been through.

I just want Hogan to be happy again and enjoying playing footy with his best mates.

We all want to know in time, because as members the club has a responsibility to inform, but I'll respect their right to determine the timing, especially when recent events have been extremely personal.

It would be great if these posters stopped stamping their feet and applied a modicum of patience.  Won't happen.

I can't see anyone stomping their feet.

Merely guessing what the problem might be.

No big deal.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
