Update did not fix this.

What platform are you on?

PS4. I was only playing exhibition before the game had fully downloaded. I'll check back in a proper season and see if there's comedy capers.

Too much one on one as others have said, and the players don't get any separation, so you have it just kick to contests all the time.

Anyone notice that Gawn is called "Garlett" by the commentators?

Also, you can't lead to space. Playing the "Be A Pro" mode, if you lead into space from your opponent, your teammate kicks to the point where you pressed the call button, not ahead of you. That means you often have the ball kicked over your head ... just like a real Melbourne game!

It's a shame they're still using a game engine from 2004.

Yeah. Playing career mode and am a full forward. When calling for the ball and leading into space the kicker kicks to where you called for it. Very stupid. It's all one on one contests.

Can you log online and play 2v2 with a mate against two random players?

I haven't tried online play yet.

Online is quite frustrating if you get a few goals up people just have a sook and quit the game and you dont even get a win for it.

I tried the be a pro mode i never have the ball passed to me even when i call for it.

Unfortunately being a small studio they just wouldnt have the funds to make an nba or fifa like quality game the market would be very limited to mostly victoria and wouldnt get any overseas attention.

Overall im happy with it but the original they did for ps3 is my favorite

You should get a win for being on the end of a rage quit. Conversely they should get a double loss or some other punishment.

Not one of the Melbourne players is named correctly.

Just started a season and the names are indeed all wrong.

There's a post on their Facebook page saying to install the update and if it's still [censored] delete your saved game as it may have saved the bugs (???). Well I had no saved game so I doubt it's fixed at all

A game like this, with a small time developer, was always going to end in tears.  Games like FIFA and NBA 2K set the bar high and it will always be out of reach for a game like this.

I wish they would fund a game that was similar to Football Manager instead.  A robust management mode including drafts, trades, gameplan etc would be sensational.  I know we've had them before but they've always been rather basic.

It looks like I'll give this one a miss for the time being, though.  The plethora of bugs and obvious mistakes would annoy me too much.

Don't notice it when you turn the commentators off, even if the names were right I would still have turned them off.

I can only play be a pro as a full forward, trying to be a mid is ridiculous with the terrible camera angles.

Is anyone still playing?

Once I figured out how to mark and spoil it was enjoyable enough. On medium, I can now have a decent contest and put together some rewarding bits of play.

The one on one, kick/mark/kick/mark nature of it probably means people will "get over it" reasonably quickly.

The coach option with the in-game objectives can liven it up a bit, think the trading aspect is overly limited for that aspect of the game though.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 19th February 2025

Demonlander The Analyser was the sole Trackwatcher out at Casey Fields today to bring you the following observations from this mornings preseason training session. Training  was at Casey today. It consisted of a match simulation for one half  and then a free choice activity time. Activities included kicking for goal,  aerial , contest work etc. I noticed the following players not in match simulation Jack Viney  running laps and looks fine for round one . I think Kolt looks like he’s im

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. Firstly the bad news - McVee went down late, which does look like a bad hammy - towards the end of match sim, as he kicked the ball. Had to

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
