Pedersen is a VFL player.  Can't believe people get excited by someone who is OK at this level.  He's not a key position AFL forward.

Hibberd looking like he's close to being ready.

Trengove makes good decisions.

Brayshaw better than VFL footy, but happy for him to stay there as long as required.

Yeah, we get it, you don't rate Trengove.

Once again, contextualise the response, in relation to what the OP stated.

It was a discussion on whether pace would matter if a player had class. Thus the comparison of Mitchell/Hodge.

Understand?

What position does he play? His inside game is average, he can't break the lines, his possessions don't hurt.

I don't understand why you mention him in the same sentence as Lewis and Hodge.

Lewis is probably almost as slow as Trengove, but he can make decisions a lot faster, dispose of the ball quickly and is a much smarter player so can get away with it.

I think he has a strong inside game and 28 disposals to 3/4 time indicates that he's finding plenty of the ball.  He is extremely strong aerobically which will see him find more and more space as the game wears on with the reduced rotations.  His tackling and one percenters have always been a strength, he makes good decisions, runs to the right places and has excellent disposal.

All these attributes would have been handy in the fourth quarter against the cats and the third against Freo.

I've watched Since half way through the 2nd on YouTube. Casey have been stuffing around with it - hard to watch. They are really lacking a forward target and being well beaten in the ruck.

Of the dees, Pederson has had the most of the ball (playing ruck) and used it well mostly. I wouldn't be disappointed to see him in next week.

Smith has done some nice things but not having much of an impact.

I'm a bit disappointed with Brayshaw. Would have expected his class to stand out more but he has just been so-so.

Kennedy has been in everything. Mostly good but a culprit in stuffing around with it.

Trengove and Hibberd have been classy. Hibberd can come straight back in as far as I'm concerned. Trengove needs to get a bit more ball (though sounds like he had a lot of it before I started watching).

Not sure about JKH bc it took me a while to figure out which number he was. Like the look of Maynard, though not ready yet. White ok. Keilty ordinary.

Omac just outmarked one on one by Cordy...out of form.

Well I don't know why after 8 seasons a question is still being asked if a player has class.

You can't tell after this long?

It's clear he doesn't have the class of those players mentioned, therefore, his speed is a lot more relevant.

I'm not saying Pedo is really a higher standard than VFL but watching him here he is clearly a better option than the Weed.... for now

He gets the ball on the inside but barely puts a teammate into a better position or contributes to attacking chains. His fitness is good but what's it matter when you're travelling so slowly. Tackling is good in close but is never going to run anyone down.

I strongly disagree that he has excellent disposal, just an ordinary kick and can't roll on quickly from a mark due to his lack of speed, limited evasive skills and slow ball drop.

Similar to Bugg, but I would actually say Bugg is more damaging.

He has been doing one on one training, and he was doing a couple of interesting drills, so I asked him what they were for and they are for burst speed, he is never going to be Jayden Hunt but a full pre season and the one on one training and who knows

We always want to write off players on here, true he hasn't been getting a game at AFL level at the moment and has obviously been told to work on things, if he gets a game it means he has improved those things

So you attack a posters view for suggesting it may be an issue and then admit he needs an entire pre season to maybe fix this issue but really don't know.

No one wants trenners to fail, you imagine that because you take criticism of players personally, some posters are just a bit more honest about where players are at.

Kennedy always excites me when he has the ball. Very zippy type of player. Just needs to fix up his disposal as he has been a key culprit in our turnovers.

Really? After reading this topic I thought it was just about Trenners speed or lack there of.

I literally have no effing idea what you're talking about or how you reached that conclusion.

I do rate Trengove and always have.

Give yourself an uppercut.

As for Pedersen ?  He's a dud.  Poor decisions, turned it over, and only got the ball while he was on ball.  I much prefer Weideman as a contesting forward.
