Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Fair few there you're over rating. i think it's assured he will finish top 10 in their B&F and probably top 5. Will be interesting to see. Also we are talking about a kid  5 years away from his best footy with 10 years probably left. Not exactly apples with apples.

Be interesting to see where he DOES place.

Watched him closely last night and like his composure, aggression and smarts directing play in and out of back line.

He'd be a significant addition. We pay what the market requires.

lolololololol

Many aren't questioning the validity of getting him just discussing where the buy price ( to Adelaide) ought to sit. There seems a fairly broad range as to that.

I think Cat's kicking efficiency was probably the sole reason why their key forwards didn't do much, it was atrocious, gys like Lever who plug the holes will always get marks. Does anyone know the disposal efficiency of both sides?

One thing that stood out to me and nothing to do with Lever was how quick you can score when not over hand balling the bloody thing, kicking moves it quicker and puts pressure on the opposition. Funnily, the last 3 sides left play this attacking style that kicking as a way to move the ball quickly, GWS Rich and ADEL. Compare that to our rubbish slop chop around packs and we have a bit to work on.

Also does anyone have the kick to h'ball ratio for the crows? I think that's how I'd like to see the Dee's move the ball going forward.

I agree with this. There are times using the handballs to release an open player is important, but I'd like to see us back the players in more and get the ball moving forward. It means the forwards need to always been in the right position to contest and not allow easy marks.

The Hawks did this well during their glory years. They wouldn't always move the ball with precision, but they would always get it moving forward with little knock ons.

The Adelaide back line is great at holding the ball up while their mids get reorganised (defence to offence) and then feeding it in...

Just because Adelaide want 2 first rounders doesn't mean he is worth it, I don't think many agree he is worth that. Our first & 2nd is more likely. Anyway people lose sight of draft picks, we of all supporters should know a top draft pick isn't guaranteed, the club will pay what he's worth in terms of a trade. Money wise I couldn't give a f%%k what we pay him.. But We'll agree to disagree... I'm confident he'll be a 2 time All Australian this time next year

Now that would be an achievement! Considering he hasn't yet been a 1 time AA  :D

If he nominates us, and he will only nominate one club so there will be no bidding war, he's worth this year's first and second given he's out of contract.

That's not necessarily relevant to his currency on the open market. The players' age and the role they play becomes a factor. As an example, the Weid wouldn't rate in our top 25, but that doesn't mean he's only worth a third round pick on the open market.

The Crouch brothers would have only broken into the Crows top 10 this year, and they've been in the system for a while. And as much as I love Rory Laird, the role he plays would never command a high 1st rd pick.

Fair point.

Don't disagree, but it probably goes to the discussion between the clubs as to his value.

Anyway he will be a great addition to our list if we get him .

On the AFL site 15 Crows players were ranked in front of Lever for last night's game.

Their comment was:

Jake Lever – 5
Has set a high standard for himself this season and was not quite up to that level. Did his best to float across and impact contests when he could.

Certainly hope a Mr Goodwin & Co were watching  intently. That said, hope our list in the main were also. A particular  irony of sorts I thought as Adelaide did to the Pvssies effectively what we did to them !!. We can get it right...sometimes

Adelaide's composure under onslaught was a major differentiation last night.

Lever seldom seems to get flustered.. Amazing that hes only 21. Old head , young shoulders. Hope we get him .

made the squad if not the team. Not too shabby :)

Another thing to be noted with Lever is that opposition teams have been running a defensive forward against him to try and take him out of the game, keep him away from the footy.

It's happened in both finals, so it looks like the coaches rate him.

Who? I didn't see anyone specifically go to him last night at all.

Yeah he wasn't in the game as much last night as the Cats tried to take him away from the contest to limit his impact. Sacrificed his personal game for the team game.

Probably part of the reason why you don't fully understand how good the bloke is.

"The Man" lol

On a lighter note, yes I do and I want him, but not for two first round draft picks. Rumour going around that its Watts + pick 10 to Collingwood for their pick 6 to on trade to Crows.

If that happens its a 1st and 3rd round pick for Lever, which is fair IMO. (as long as he's not on $900k per year).

No it doesn't. It means we give a 1st round pick, Jack Watts and a 3rd round pick.  Unless we got Collingwood's 2nd round pick back, it's daylight robbery.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
