Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever

Trengove is only average though and is no better than Tom McDonald or Frost. While I think the need for a key defender is overstated by our injuries, Lever is quality and the one we want.

Aside from Mac brothers and Frost, who are all playing, which other key defender is injured. And don't say Garland, because even if he was fit, we'd be looking to pension him off at seasons end. Smith is more of a half back, who could play on a 3rd tall.

I'll put up one of those posts: lever won't leave. He's from all reports a true class act, loved at the club, future captain, etc.

he was a freakish talent before the leg injury in juniors. Adelaide know he was a draft steal and won't give him up for less than the moon, Jupiter and a second round pick.

Please, to all who put forth our own overrating trades of players who are borderline 22 at the dees, stop. It's equivalent to Richmond offering us Shane Edwards and a second rounder for clarry, because we don't know how good he is.

I agree

As for a stock is he "fully valued"? Is he low risk low return relative to price?unless he has potential the market doesnt see he is no bargain.

Who are the diamonds in the rough?

Who is undervalued?

Who is worth more playing within our side?

Cannot believe why so many people here are prepared to show Weiderman the door.

He is still a baby, needs 2-3 years at Casey yet

I'm sure the club isn't entertaining a Weideman trade. That's the main thing.

My god it looks delicious:

Frost.       TMac.       Jetta

Hibberd.   Lever.       Hunt

Great defensive presence, a lot of aggression at the pill and at the man and excellent rebound as well.

Hunt could go to the wings if need be with your older mid back there but to me, that's a delightful back six

Rubbish!

oscar will end up as our premier gun defender. Lever not needed.

watch last Monday. Better to spend big bucks on a gun, truly fast, midfielder. Watch how Treloar cut us up

This is close to the most dynamic and solid back-six that I can recall in my time following the MFC. And with decent depth and interchangeability. Get it done PJ. :pj:

I would absolutely love to land Lever.

I suspect we have zero chance of getting him though. There's no way the Crows will let him go.

The 2014 draft was our chance. In fairness to Paul Roos and the recruiting team, we were well aware of this and it seems we tried pretty hard to get him.

The ball is completely in his court, Adelaide have no say in whether or not he chooses to come back to Vic. Only that they'll have a preference of club to deal with depending on who has the better hand.

From the articles that I've read, it'll be family and girlfriend that are the deciders.

I don't care why we pay for him. If we land him, it'll be a game changer for our club.

It would be great for those that watch Crows games to post who he plays on each week. I will do my best to do this. As I have stated you will find he rarely plays on the first or second forward making him hard to compare to O-Mac in particular. I dont disagree he would be starting 22 but I dont see him being as necessary as other positions we need to sort for a flag tilt.

He'd probably be automatic first 5. Gawn, Hogan, Petracca, Oliver, Lever

Interesting that neither co captain is automatic top 5... just an observation...

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
