bloody sook i suppose you would expect to buy an  icy pole with eftpos as well ,  no good having a crack at the dude on the gate either

I had about 15 bucks on me. That's all a married man with a nineteen year old daughter is liable to carry in cash these days, when, like I say, one can go anywhere else but Casey in the Melbourne area and use an eftpos machine.

By the way, the dude in the Ticket shack agreed with me, said I and 150 others had said the same thing.

Just got back from a 100 kilometere wild goose chase to Casey Fields and back.

I arrived at 1.50, walked round the ground from the car park in the paddock, queued up to pay and saw the sign 'Cash Only'.

I asked if there was an eptpos facility nearby, he replied in the nearest shopping centre. I said this is a troglodyte sham, he said, 150 others have said that.

I walked back to my car and drove home.

Goodbye Casey Fields, I'll not be going back.

On the flip side, he can count to 150 and that's no mean feat in Cranny.

Between you and me, he used an abacus.

I *never* have cash on me. Any cash I do have I generally tend to lose because it's lose change and I always deal with cards.

If a place doesn't have eftpos they simply don't get my service. Ever.

I'd have done exactly the same thing.

I'm old fashioned I always make sure I have minimum $50 cash on me

If you're a married man with a 19 year old daughter at Uni one doesn't often have 50 bucks to one's name.

Don't ever visit a place of limited virtue then as you won't get serviced either...apparently.

Fair enough my daughter is 5 and she's already pretty expensive!

I agree it's pretty dumb you can't even get a ticket with eftpos in 2017

Has anyone seen a maroon Lexus in the car park?

I saw one doing about 200km/h heading towards Philip Island.

So did I but the driver looked fourteen. I'm sure it's all above board.

I was gonna buy a membership but they don't take AMEX.

What's EFTPOS, always pay cash, you can't track cash

Especially non-existent cash.

And, that's my point, why I've never got any, I can't keep track of it.

They do, however, take APEX (conditions apply, must be purchased in Cranny and surrounding areas)

I don’t see what everyone’s complaining about. The last time I went to Casey, they hadn’t invented money there yet. I had to barter with livestock.

When you arrive at Casey, wind your watch back 30 years.

Went to wind mine back when I got out of the car. But someone had already nicked it.

Just joking. As if I'd go to Casey.

It goes further though. No one carries much in cash nowadays. So what occurs when you want that pie ( possibly a good thing to be saved from rethinking ?) or beer etc. A LOT of folk just wave the phone or card.

I know ...requires 21c thinking...

Eftpos freely available for the food BB.  I have just got back from the most fantastic double-bill. Both teams did themselves proud and My Bro, son and I agreed it was a fantastic day.

NB.  I am a member and I did have cash.

If you had cash and you live in Thornbury and you like Christians you're obviously related to the Salems and drive a Mercedes and I know that your fellow countrymen are cash dealers. I deliberately spelt c not hash.Okay.  I'm glad you had cash and had a good day, I had to go home and get nagged to death by my wife.

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence.
