That's right!  Muck up this thread with a perfectly sensible suggestion!  Stone him, I say!!

Suspension coming up. Worst case of trying to derail a thread I have seen in some time

I decided to do a quick design. It's fairly similar to one of our recent away guernsey's, except for a bigger blue 'V' and also red sleeves. Thoughts?

Love it - can't comprehend how club finds it so hard

Have you ever considered that they don't see as a big deal?

Well, clearly WE do.  So, it's time THEY did, too...!

(The masses are revolting!  -- some would say VERY revolting!  LOL)

The club should see it as a big deal.

The MFC is represented by the colours Red and Blue

Stuffed if i want to see this club play finals in a white jumper after all the sh!t THE CLUB has put US through

They should for a number of reasons.

For one it's representing the club every time it's trotted out, if it lacks any punch than its dishonouring our past.

Secondly as pointed out earlier it has commercial value, if the fans don't like it then they won't buy it meaning we've got stock wasting on the shelves.

Finally, and no I don't expect this to happen this year, but the club and the designers should ask themselves if Melbourne is holding the premiership cup at the end of the year are we ok with them wearing this? If it's a no then go back to the drawing board.

[Disclaimer] I know there'll probably be lots of people saying if Melbourne won the premiership they wouldn't care what they were wearing.

Pink? I wish we could go back to the sliver jumper, when I used to wear mine to games it went so well with my mustard trousers and snakeskin platforms

The white jumper is one of the most popular products at the Demon Shop, it outsells the 'normal' one

Will be interesting to compare sales of this one to previous clash tops.

Yes but do they see it as a big deal?

I think not.

If they do see it as a big deal based on the new. Design they clearly have no taste.

Why can't we simply where our normal jumper against the dons? There is no clash there.

You mean like we always use to.  Carlton jumpers can also look fairly similar to the traditional MFC one, but neither jumper is indistinguishable from each other, as the contrast is in the significantly different geometrical design.

Back pre clash jumpers, I recall there being a few moments of confusion in games where an errant handball may have hit an opposition in clear space thought to be a team mate and similaly probably a few mistaken identity umpiring decisions.  On average these problems effected both teams more or less equally.  Another objection is that tge players find it hard.  Having played lower level local footy, many instances occurred playing opposition with similar jumpers - it does require a little extra care, but it is hardly impossible.

At AFL level, it was never the kind of gross problem that justified the atrocious over reaction from the AFL of mandating  'every' team develop a predominantly white away jumper.

A few thoughts. Don't hate it but it could be sooooo much better with a bit of thought. Glad they dropped the city scape from the training jumper but don't like that it has the acorn design but I guess this is what they are plugging and there needs to be consistency. Good brand recognition should be based around this. Of all the new items I quite like the training tank and think I will pick one up

I think we need The Ox to jump on the bandwagon re this jumper Emailing the club and the AFL is one thing but we need a constant media voice to get the AFL to listen.

Remember the uproar before the 2014 Elimination Final which caused the AFL to back flip and allow Port (the home side) to wear their dark jumper even though it clashed with the Tigers clash jumper more than Ports white clash jumper which the AFL had originally told Port they had to wear

I haven't voted because I neither love it nor hate it. Could we please have an Ambivalent option?

Well, the view results or show results button is effectively an abstain.

Currently 7 people (5%) have abstained,  11 (8%) love it ,  17 (13%) don't care,  and 98 (74%) hate it.  133 total.

Even though it clashes with St Kilda's jumper more than our traditional jumper.

TheAFL's crude white for all policy is garbage.

What could epitomise this ridiculous stance more than havibg a team with NO white normally on its jumper playing. team that does.....and then introducing. White into the confusion where there was none. It's bullshlt.

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
