Righto then...

That was in relation to what I said in my previous quote.

Again, please highlight where I had a crack regarding the primary/rookie list options for any potential DFA's, as per your previous quoting of my post.

No mention of the rookie list and was said to be a "better FWD -Ruck option than Spencer" (who is on the main list in case you didn't know).

No one suggested putting him on the rookie list...

No one needed to mention the rookie list. We only have rookie spots left.

Why are you talking about delisting someone?

That's not what I said you did. I just said you had a crack, you clearly did. Don't try and move the goal posts now.

So you were uncertain if we had main list spots available? My god. I thought everyone on here would have a basic understanding of how many spots on the list we had left.

You quoted my post about primary and rookie lists, then accused me of having a crack. There is absolutely nowhere in my post that you quoted that I was having a crack at you.

And you reckon I'm changing the goal posts?

This thread needs to have some of it's cartilage scraped out and to be hauled off to the Hunt for a Red Hot Ruckman section for a spot of recovery.

Lol the misquoting is getting worse... You don't see how me asking that was leading the OP to understand the list situation?

Wow.

Stuart, the OP actually asked what peoples opinions of him were, specifically comparing him to Spencer.  ManDee was not saying that we should give him a place on the primary list.  Here is what ManDee asked;

"Just delisted by EFC, is he a better FWD -Ruck option than Spencer?"

Most people that have replied, yourself included, have indicated that if they would bring him in, that the rookie list would be the main and/or only way we would do this.  It's just that you took it that step/s further (shock horror) and implied that because Spencer was on our Primary List, that if we are looking at someone as an upgrade on him, that they would naturally have to go on the Primary List too (your post #22).

Yes from me as a rookie spot. Could be interesting to see how he goes as a FB and take on the the big guys like Hawkins, Walker and Tippet. Also gives us insurance if one of the McDonald's go down.

And Stuart, just to further confirm what a majority of posters think, you have stated the above in you post #22 that "no one suggested putting him on the rookie list".  You only had to scroll up to my post #19, which, for your benefit, I have quoted below...

We have spots available on the rookie list if it were decided that we would look at any DFA, so no need to delist anyone, Stuart.

Personally, I think there is zero chance that they would be looking at any of the DFAs for any spot on our primary list (as I think we have made all the changes we want to make), or the rookie list (as I think they will try their luck with a couple of project players that aren't "proven" at AFL level.

And when you were scrolling up, you would've gone past CBDees post #20 (the very next one following my above one), where he/she stated;

"None if we rookie him. We only have two live picks (47&69) in the main draft after promoting Wagner but we have rookie pics."

You accuse others of misquoting.  You accuse others of changing the goal posts.  It is truly baffling.

I think he would be worth a rookie spot, mainly as insurance but he may have some upside. I think he could do the FWD/Ruck role better than Spencer and perhaps better then Pedo.

As a rookie who could we get to fill that FWD/Ruck role that is better than McKernan? So for me it is a yes.

But that's assuming we don't think some combination of Watts or Weideman can do that job for us in the short to medium term. And it doesn't help us find the long term solution either.

Don't forget Jordan Lewis bringing those 3rd man up skills over to us. Should add a new dimension to our midfield rucking stocks.

Ha! Stu's recruiting team have suggested to the club that we should recruit Josh Green and Shaun Mckernan to the club to boost our "superstar factor."

why do we need threads about players we're never going to recruit in a million years?

Jeck, do we need a FWD/Ruck?

If yes, who is available?

If no, you are at odds with the FD and most supporters.

Sorry to post a thread about a player that may fit a need at our club.  And to answer your question, we have threads because we love our club and we want it to improve, we like to talk to like minded supporters and to argue about what is best for our club. Also sorry to have an opinion. Please ignore threads that you don't like and don't impose your negativity.

We need a player who plays that position, but an AFL standard one.

surely there has to be some sort of filter though, we have no spots for a DFA so it's not going to happen.

Unlike what stuie keeps suggesting, we're very unlikely to put any DFAs on the primary list.

I haven't suggested that once, in fact I've been the one pointing out the list spaces. But nice attempt at trolling champ.

Let me get this straight...

I have a different opinion so i am a troll now?

who were you planning on getting rid of to make room for these players Stu?

To be fair to Stuart, he did belt us with the "Green on the Rookie List" line ad nauseam in that other thread, so there wouldn't be a need to delist anyone.  Green would need to nominate for the Rookie Draft though for us to get him that way.

My concern about parking a DFA like Green (or McKernan, et al) on the rookie list is that we could be using that spot to develop an untried, speculative pick, similar to what we did with Wagner, AvB, etc (I could've gone back to the likes of Jurrah, Flash, etc, but wanted to keep it recent).

    TRAINING: Wednesday 19th February 2025

Demonlander The Analyser was the sole Trackwatcher out at Casey Fields today to bring you the following observations from this mornings preseason training session. Training  was at Casey today. It consisted of a match simulation for one half  and then a free choice activity time. Activities included kicking for goal,  aerial , contest work etc. I noticed the following players not in match simulation Jack Viney  running laps and looks fine for round one . I think Kolt looks like he’s im

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
