Any Sha Tin tips @Macca shoot them through!

I couldn't find anything that jumped out at me but I usually cherry-pick the Purton & Moreira mounts and go down the exotics path.  And that's what I've done today

It should be noted that Purton's strike rate is down a bit this season whilst Moreira is riding really well.  And both jockeys are more often than not on the best horses in nearly every race that they are engaged in.

Race 7 (G3 Feature) is a good betting race though (trifecta or F4?) and I'd expect one of Exultant (Purton),  Dark Dream (Moreira) or Furore (Teetan) to greet the judge.

It beats whatever donkeys are going around at Mornington that’s for sure!

Anyone like anything for the cup?

I was at a luncheon last week where Nick Williams said Latrobe is the best horse in their stable since Green Moon.

I doubt he was foxing i’m pretty  sure the Williams are just passionate about winning the cup and not trying to play funny buggers.

Barrier 22 might make it tough.

note Macca’s post above about Moreira. Looks to be on one of the more fancied chances.

I have narrowed it down to 8 - 10 winning chances Wrecker and there are possibly another 5 or 6 that could get into the finish.

Might be 10-1 the field in terms of which horses are the punters favourites.

It is said every year but this year's race is the most wide open I can ever remember.  And we don't know a great deal about many of the horses.

I'm going to use the Cailfield Cup as a guide but with zero confidence.

In the end boxing 6 in the exotics is probably the go. And then you have to get lucky.

Finche & Constantinople probably go in but who knows?  Il Paradiso is being talked about.  Mer de Glace?  Vow And Declare?

Yeah I agree Macca, everyone at work who punts regularly is throwing hands up in the air. I’ll see how the track is looking after the first 5 races and then see if anything helps but tbh I think it’s will be a guess at best and yeah a 6 boxed tri isn’t a bad option.

I love my horses and horse racing but I just think Waller is the NSW version of Weir. Too good to be true.

Every time I backed one of Weir's horses on form his other bloody thing would win. I have a gut feel Youngstar will continue the tradition tomorrow when everyone else is on Finche you watch Youngstar run out of its skin. I'd be putting it in every multiple.

Ha ha!

Spoken like a true punter!

I reckon it's more the Hayes camp for those "Stablemate's" saluting.  Gets a lot of 10-1 shots winning too.

They set certain horses for certain races and they are very good at it.  Pity we're often none the wiser beforehand.

As for Waller ... he's got the cream of the good horses and lots of them.  Stands to reason he'll win a lot (especially the Group races)

Feel free to chime in with your best bet on the weekend too Wrecker.  We've got about 7 or 8 participants and it's a bit of fun.

We went 8: 4 - 1 - 0 last weekend.

I reckon Twilight Payment can run first 4 and will blow everyone out of the multiples. One to include for mine. Otherwise, a very even year and like everyone else unsure how to do the form across the different countries. I've been  told Ireland is good this year but how could you possibly know? Even if the best horses comes it might not travel well. Don't discount the ones from across the ditch (NZ)

And just like that the Hayes camp win the first race (the 2yo Ottawa St) with a 10-1 shot (Aryaaf)

A joke to pass the time until the big one.

Two female teachers Mrs Kay and Mrs Knight took a group of students from grades one and three for a field trip to Flemington Racecourse for the 2019 Melbourne Cup. When it was time to take the children to the bathroom, it was decided that the girls would go with one teacher and the boys would go with the other. Mrs Kay was assigned to the boys and Mrs Knight the girls. Mrs Kay was waiting outside the men’s toilet when one of the boys came out and told her that none of them could reach the urinal. Having no choice she went and helped the little boys hoisting them up one by one. As she lifted one boy up she couldn’t help but notice that he was unusually well endowed. Trying not to show that she was staring at his equipment Mrs Kay said, ‘You must be in Grade three?’ ‘No ma’am’, he replied. My name is Frankie Dettori and I’m riding Master of Reality in the Cup, but I really appreciate your help.’

Well leg 1 salutes ... waiting around 3 hours for the next 2 legs!

The inside going seems to be the go too.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
