Hasn't been named in both sides mate. Highly doubt it.

Having a weekend off from playing myself i was looking forward to watching him play live. Again as usual nothing from the club to explain this which annoys me.

I have to say I am looking forward to our forward line next year.   The Hulk, Weeds, Watts, Dawes and the smalls.  We will be very hard to match up on

Gut feel after today's session is they wont risk JV. Tad too early, possibly unable to grapple etc. Hope I'm wrong but just going on the overall look rather than anything specific

Not a punctuation guru, but I did have to check twice regarding this quote. All good

None the wiser on JV:  http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-06-11/tough-demon-jack-viney-completes-training-ahead-of-pies-clash?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=RSS+feed%3A+AFL+Latest+News

Viney, who trained in a glove on his injured left hand, moved between the main group and a separate rehab group at Gosch's Paddock.

The Demons' team will be named later on Saturday, with coach Paul Roos and assistant Brendon McCartney holding lengthy talks with the 22-year-old towards the end of the one-hour session.

I wonder if they will name him and give him another day and if necessary replace him with an emergency, at the last minute tomorrow.

I asked Jack Viney said he was playing the hand is fine    if that means anything he was handballing and using it to mark the ball

Grimes and Michie watched training

Asked about Garlett to a few    same answer   down on form   so a freshen up with Casey

Salem's issue has caused him to shed weight again, confident the medicos can fix it

H did a bit of training  said he is back on track   no messing around with concussion these days

Asked Nev whether he was off to Freo

...and ??

He laughed   said you get this with him being a free agent    personally think like others he has unfinished business with MFC and wants the success after enduring the hard times   times have changed for him   was swamped with signature and photo requests   last to leave training

McCartney told me same thing about Weed  but also thinks Mitch White is going to be a player as well

Thanks.  Glad to hear he Nev is getting much deserved fan love.

Thanks all those Demonlanders for coming down to training despite what was going to be a wet and blustery day. We made a nice amount of money which will go to the Demon Army to continue their great work - hopefully some more "heads". Great to see so many kids there.

Yes Nev was swamped but not the last to leave - H was still doing laps. Very funny listening to Watts and Dawes sledge Petracca. Fantastic camaraderie

What was said about Weed? He really intrigues me as a player.

McCartney made me laugh when he said the Weed was a bag of bones    but said when they have finished building him, he will be a gun    has all the attributes to be an elite player but don't want to throw him in before he is ready

A bit drizzly but training looked sharp. Dawes looks in good touch. Lots of yelps and yahooing during the runthroughs. Petracca having fun espcially with dawes and watts.

I havent seen many session's before but this looked pretty brisk.

I now see the talk about Petracca's size. He is huge!

Petracca"s F bomb and apology

I was starting to panic when i couldnt spot Jetta. It was only when i asked one of the staff that i realised that he was in the no.36. He is pretty solid! Should have picked up the size difference!

Numbers 4 and 6 sledging 5? Must be something numeric

Thanks to all for the training reports. Much appreciated.

Viney is playing. Grimes and Michie playing for Scorps and Harmes  not playing.

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

A month is a long time in AFL football. The proof of this is in the current state of the two teams contesting against each other early this Saturday afternoon at the MCG. It’s hard to fathom that when Melbourne and Fremantle kicked off the 2025 season, the former looked like being a major player in this year’s competition after it came close to beating one of the favourites in the GWS Giants while the latter was smashed by Geelong to the tune of 78 points and looked like rubbish. Fast forward to today and the Demons are low on confidence and appear panic stricken as their winless streak heads towards an even half dozen and pressure mounts on the coach and team leadership.  Meanwhile, the Dockers have recovered their composure and now sit in the top eight. They are definitely on the up and up and look most likely winners this weekend against a team which they have recently dominated and which struggles to find enough passages to the goals to trouble the scorers. And with that, Fremantle will head to the MCG, feeling very good about itself after demolishing Richmond in the Barossa Valley with Josh Treacy coming off a six goal haul and facing up to a Melbourne defence already without Jake Lever and a shaky Steven May needing to pass a fitness test just to make it onto the field of play.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
