The commentary was bad, but nowhere near as horrible as the camera work. Why do they need to zoom into a one square metre patch of turf all day? So many times the ball would be knocked a few metres forward and the camera had to track forward to catch up. Often the work off the ball is more important than what is happening around the ball, but you never see it on TV.

Can't stand Brererton on special comments. I accept that he is knowledgeable but he has no idea of what "concise and to the point" is. What could be said in few words becomes a monologue. A man of few words, his is not. Very frustrating. I don't need a dissertation watching the footy.

Where did they find this idiotic Basil clown anyway? Did he play?

He's like some wannabe personality who flunked out of acting school or something. Deadset [censored]!

100% agree.  And why do they zoom in on the player who has just missed a goal or made some mistake rather than showing what options the player kicking out has.  It's almost as if they are sadists revelling in someone's pain.

Wide shots annoy some people because they can't easily see which player is which.   To that I say the game is more important than the player or get yourself a new large  TV, we are no longer living with 12" Black & white sets.  Of course it would help if the AFL took more care with clash jumpers rather than care of certain clubs.

AFL conspiring to have [censored] footage of the game so that people go to the games instead of watching it on TV :P. I hate watching games on tv now, its so frustrating.

As for the commentary I would like to see the same format the NBA has on their online thing where you can select the commentary stream based on either home or away. Means you get commentary from commentators who actually know more about the club than the stuff printed out for them 5min before they go live. Unfortunatly its not super practical for our format because of the [censored] house broadcast rights they keep signing and then bragging about all the money they made.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
