My 3 word player analysis V Richmond

Bugg wasnt bad for mine. He certainly put a few richmond players off their game. Dunn a few errors but still worth his spot in the team. He has missed a few this year. Will get better. Still wouldnt mind him having a go up forward and moving Pederson back. While Pedo is only averging half a goal a game, his marking and effort has lifted.

Petracca may come in for Brayshaw next week.

I would rather see Petracca in for Frost and Oliver return for Brayshaw (although it would be nice to see Brayshaw in the team when Petracca debuts)! Finding room for stars is not the problem Demon fans are accustomed to.

N.Jones: Typical Jones performance

Hogan: Some wasteful kicks

Salem: Classy and composed

Watts: Continued impressive form

Viney: Absoloute mad dog

Lumumba: Provides exciting run

Brayshaw: Exciting first minute

Gawn: Making Jim proud

Tyson: Back in form

Dunn: Solid defensive performance

Kent: Manic forward pressure

Frost: Doing just enough

Pederson: A vital cog

Vince: Incredible return performance

McDonald: Great intercept marking

Hunt: Speedy and feisty

Bugg: Dosen't give a...

Kennedy: There when needed

Garlett: Game's best forward

Jetta: Did Jetta things

Wagner: Continues to grow

Harmes: Remains exciting prospect

I like the fact that you have completely changed your attitute towards the player from before the season started.

Whilst im not being antagonisic, I remember a little debate with you where you rated him 40th on our list and said you couldn't see him being a viable option this year.

whilst during pre season he looked a little lost, he has come into the side the last two weeks and really been much more than competitive, started to show the ability to change lanes and break lines throughout the Richmond game and I can only see him improving from here.

Not sure about that.  Please quote what you're referencing.

I can't remember the contents of the list ranking debate, but if I did rate him 40 who cares ?  He hadn't played a game and as a forward at Casey he did some special things, but averaged about 9 disposals per game.

I do remember Redleg asking me whether I'd delist or retain for another year and saying I wouldn't get rid of him, because anyone who had shown the X factor he had was worth persevering with.  But in reality (and I'm surprised it needs pointing out) now that I've seen exposed form at AFL level I love what he brings to the table.

If you really want to highlight "changed attitudes" you'd be better off having a read of this closed thread from January.  A couple of posters may like their time over.

His endurance won't get to the point where he's a viable option to get games next year, imho.

We have 40 players on our primary list.  Where do you think Hunt currently ranks ?  I'm guessing it's 40.  (yes, he's still behind the Terlichs of this world)

Won't happen.  He has no tank and while he has no tank I can't see him getting a game.  I don't think he can improve it to satisfactory levels by the start of the season.

The conversation about it starts in this topic. All three of those are quotes from you about Hunt.

I only vaguely remember posts because often we have contradicting views and you came in pretty quickly to shut down the optimisim I expressed about Jayden Hunt. Admittedly i never had him pegged in our side til later in the year and his effort in his 2 most recent games have exceeded how I thought he would perform and I love that it looks like we really have found a player.
You didnt need to point it out, I was merely expressing that i was stoked on your change of views, obviously due to exposed form, not many posters on here like to change their tune on preconcieved ideas about palyers, that said we hadnt seen much of him so it was always a bit of a guessing game.

I'm comfortable with all of that and stand by my earlier post, i.e.

"but if I did rate him 40 who cares ?  He hadn't played an (AFL) game and as a forward at Casey he did some special things, but averaged about 9 disposals per game. But in reality (and I'm surprised it needs pointing out) now that I've seen exposed form at AFL level I love what he brings to the table."

No wonder I put you in the vindictive posters category.  Your baiting form continues.

Hardly fun, like having discussions with you as you are very bullish with your opinions.

I love being proven wrong when players come out and show the talent that they have.

Having a huge slice of humble pie with Jayden Hunt! He still needs a few tweaking here and there but once he gets the confidence in him to back himself and really break games open with his speed.

I was so impressed with his ability to just dance around stoppages and break away and clear the ball away.

Me similarly with Wagner!! Apologies reminds me of Anthony Ingerson and maybe will be much better!!;)

Bugg bumping an injured Riewoldt was weak.

If that happened to a Melbourne player most here would be up in arms.

Perhaps but who knows what went down in that "malee"

It doesn't excuse bumping a player who was clearly injured and hobbling to get off the ground.

What's your point? Do you seriously give a toss that Bugg bumped into Riewoldt?

needs to pick his battles, outside that i was really happy with that he did on the weekend, he clearly got into their heads.

Yes, it's poor form.

It happens every game, just not sure why you've highlighted Bugg doing it to Riewoldt.

Like others, I am really excited about our young boys who showed so much composure and competitiveness despite their tender years and few games. Wow we are building a competitive team.

There were two trainers there to assist Riewoldt, it wasn't as if he just had a bit of a limp.  It's very rare that this happens.

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
