Would have thought you'd need to add Hunt onto the at risk list. If he doesn't show he has what it takes this year I would have thought his papers will be stamped as well. I also would have thought Pedersen would have to be pretty bad this year not to get another contract. He was showing good form last year before he did his wrist and without him we'll be very bare for talls for the next few years.

Not really relevant to anything but i find it interesting that we are a chance of moving on a couple of blokes who not so long ago finished 3rd and 4th in our B&F as well as potentially two former co-captains and a bloke we paid way overs to get and a former number 1 draft pick, and it wouldn't really hurt our best 22 in any huge way to do so.

I am hopefully on a few of these guys, Trengove in particular but it's an interesting situation

Johnny Ralph on SEN tonight reckons the Hogan situation has a taken a turn for the worst over the last 6 months and the two parties are as far apart as they've been for a while.

Meanwhile he said both McDonald boys are far from certainties to stay on after this year.

What a barrel of joy that was listening to him.

Absolute rubbish on all counts, John Ralph has lost all credibility over the Essendon saga, he is trying to create news out of thin air now.

It's easy to see who are the weak squibs of the media world are when they pick on the smaller clubs for news items. They only ever have good news stories about Collingwood and Hawthorn. If a bloke hasn't signed at Melbourne he's "far from certain" to do so. If a bloke hasn't signed at Collingwood then "he really wants to stay" and "it's just a matter of dotting a few i's and crossing a few t;s".

Weak and pathetic dogs.

It makes our marketing peoples job so much harder to do. Especially leading into the season when you are trying to sign members. Jackson or Barrett should be calling out and confronting the weak ***ick.

Does anyone know whether these imbeciles only make up more particular excreta about The Dees than other teams or not?

Your interpretation of the conversation is very poor.

He said that Hogan signing on isn't as close as recent reports suggest and that Melbourne "wouldn't be feeling as good as 10 weeks ago".  He doubted it would happen prior to the season commencing, but more round 6 or mid-season.

He mentioned that the McDonald brothers were out of contract and that was it.  He said that if they could sign both bookends - Hogan and McDonald - then we'd become a destination club.  Their signings are that important.

The amount of times I've heard conversations like this distorted by supporters in the re-telling is incredible.  Do people actually listen ?

I listened to that and he had nothing.

He said "Hogan returned to West Coast (he said West Coast not Western Australia) to contemplate his future over the break", considering he's from there where's the story.

That sounds much better.

In all honestly i don'tthink anyone thought he would re sign prior to the season so i don't know where Ralphy got that report. Mahoney and Roos have emphasized that he still has 2 years left of his contract and hardly something thats going to be rushed into.

Jon Ralph is a clown, for sure.  Anything he says gets ignored immediately.

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th
