NATIONAL DRAFT PICKS 3 & 7

Ohh the guy who emphatically stated no less than a week ago that Curnow would be our first picked, that guy?

We could very well end up selecting Oliver but Brett Anderson would have just as much clue as you or I.

Are yes, the famous quote that was referenced that made me ask for a link. I was then critised for not believing said poster.

Of course, in reality Anderson was doing nothing more than guessing, which he has since confirmed.

He's still guessing, but it's an educated guess now.

Heard Worsfold interviewed just now...sound very much like they will take a tall at 4 or 5. Could mean Weidman will be gone by 7.

Great, even better for us! If they take Weideman then that'll leave us with either Parish or Francis for pick 7 (assuming Ah Chee is drafted by Gold Coast)

My late mail is that we'll bid on Mills at 3 and then take Weideman at 4.

We want him too much and aren't prepared to risk him not being available at our 2nd pick.

We like Oliver, Parish and Francis and will take whichever one is still there at our 2nd pick.

I'd be happy with this outcome.

We need to add to our midfield so would prefer Parish or Oliver over Francis.

Highly doubt we'll take Weideman at 4.. but wait and see.

This would probably go against what Goodwin was just talking about 30 minutes ago....

This makes perfect sense if we really want Weideman.

How reliable is your "mail".

Before trade period I heard second hand from Sam's dad that Melbourne were definitely the most interested club. A few days ago I heard again that Mark thought Sam will be going to Melbourne. It sounds like we do definitely want him, but how much we want him compared to Oliver/Parish I have no idea.

I am slowly coming around to Sam Weideman being a demon now. I do admit he is a impressive in the way he speaks and presents himself. at 196cm with vice like hands it is a bit exciting.

My biggest worry is obviously his body..

How will you all be watching the draft tonight?

Don't have FOXTEL and would have been watching it from my phone (In-app subscription/ not live pass) but broke it two days ago.

Does anyone know if you can stream it through the AFL website "Live Pass" login???

If so I'll just pay the $5 for a "weekly pass".

Goody just said we will take best available with 3 and 7 and not neccasarily a forward, so we could end up with Oliver and Francis

Thanks mate, I have a feeling it will start at 6:30 pm so the commercials should stop soon.

Are you watching via your phone, tablet or PC?

Tablet. AFL TV with some old footage on. The thumbnail says 2015 NAB DRAFT though.

Getting all too excited now! Hopefully this will be the last time we have picks in the top 10 for a long time.

Good luck to Jason Taylor and his crew.. Will be absolutely backing him to nail this draft like he has the past couple of years.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    POSTGAME: Rd 13 vs Collingwood

Once again inaccuracy and inefficiency going inside 50 rears it's ugly head as the Demons suffered their second loss on the trot and their fourth loss in five games as they go down to the Pies by 38 points on Kings Birthday at the MCG.

    GAMEDAY: Rd 13 vs Collingwood

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again faced with a classic 8 point game against a traditional rival on King's Birthday at the MCG. A famous victory will see them reclaim a place in the Top 8 whereas a loss will be another blow for their finals credentials.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag
