yeah I don't think he is a done and dusted player either.

I think he has a lot more potential and has shown it in short bursts. Seems to perform better across half forward and as a lead up type player. Definitely a potential upgrade/replacement for Dawes. Especially when is happy to be used in the ruck in a pinch (Dawes just doesn't want to)

Pederson is a player who many counted out a year or two back (including the coaching staff to a degree) but has developed into a consistent competitive player, who can run, tackle well and take contested marks. No reason why Brown couldn't develop into a similar role to Pederson.

I would probably prefer Tomlinson at this stage. Has more athleticism and a bit of experience down back. Also a huge plus which Roos and a lot of people are highlighting is the need for endurance running in players. Tomlinson has a great tank for running his players off their feet. Actually enjoys long distance running like Tmac

We could have a group a midium-tall players with good running who can play both ends or good marking wing players.

T. McDonald

Pederson

Watts

Vandenberg

(Tomlinson)

He has a lot of talent but I don't think he'll make it at AFL level, if that makes sense.

Pedo would give us equal amount of value.

How old is Pedersen next season? 29? He may have another year or two but not much more.

Just checked, Pedersen is 29 in March.

Mentioned in afl.com.au -"However, the Blues could miss out on Geelong forward Josh Walker, with Melbourne rivals believed to be circling the 22-year-old."

Not sure if they're referring to Melbourne, but maybe Josh is on our list..?

Melbourne rivals?

That could be Hawthorn, St. Kilda, Collingwood, Essendon, Carlton, Melbourne, Nth. Melbourne, Richmond or the Western Bulldogs.

So yes, I suppose we might be on that list somehow.

A young ruck/forward who can't get a game at cats if Clark firing... could be just what we need.

From the same article

"However, the Blues could miss out on Geelong forward Josh Walker, with Melbourne rivals believed to be circling the 22-year-old."

"Carlton's Lachlan Henderson will join Geelong in a move that will see Cats forward Josh Walker join the Blues"

Much rather Walker ends up at Carlton than the MFC.

Henderson deal confirmed and Walker is NOT part of it. I'd prefer Walker than Kennedy, if we're to give up a 2nd round pick.

You can rule out Hawthorn, St. Kilda, North, Richmond and Dogs. If Collingwood get Howe, you can rule them out. If hewanted to get to Carlton, he would have been included in Henderson deal. That just leaves us and Essendon.

Lumumba.

I know you like him, but he added nothing.

For an introverted team with probably the lowest bouncing stats in the comp (pre-2015), you are wrong; he did add something.

He played injured for most of the year. I will come to the conclusion about him next year, rather than just repeating what some bloggers are repeating.

I don't expect a lot from H, and I haven't since 2011, but I will buy some his stock at the low price.

For those that are unsure about Walker, have a look at his efforts in the final against Freo at Skilled Stadium a couple of years ago.

That game alone showed he aint AFL quality.

SPUD - no thanks

he kicked a bag of 5, a bag of 4 and multiple bags of 3s this year

in all reality that was a couple of years ago. Hes a bit better now...fair's fair just saying

The 5 was against Brisbane in a rout wasn't it? Hogan had 4 in a half and could've had way more with any kind of supply. Even Dawes was up and about that day.

Walker is about as good as you get for a depth key forward. Not many sides will have better players sitting in their reserves.

But I don't think that should make him a target for us.

Reminds me of Ben Donkey Holland, a somewhat useful addition. Josh Walker would be preferable to Chris Dawes wouldn't he?

Late call up in his first final at the age of 20 who was a chf being forced to play on sandilands. Hardly a good example, late 2nd or a 3rd and a swap of late picks would be fair. 2nd only to Blicavs in all Geelong's time trials, great mark, competitor, probably not a natural footballer or a great kick, but will offer more than Dawes.

Fitzy offers more than Dawes I'm really starting to doubt our FD.

I've thought of doing it in passing. Put up an old photo of Barassi and post the absolute dumbest [censored] I can think of, but I reckon Nasher would catch me out and who has the time anyway?

Maybe in 50 years I'll spend all day trolling messageboards while I'm waiting for kids to ride past to throw turds at.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
