Radar Detector 1,347 Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Either way, our crowds should improve. Apparently he brings all the boys to the yard. 8 Quote
DemonLad5 1,642 Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Ran into Simon Goodwin before my basketball game today. His daughter played in the game before me Quote
SaberFang 7,151 Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 He said we're getting Prestia for Howe and pick 6? Quote
Yossarian 1,820 Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 I'm sure a lot won't agree with me, but I expect Melksham to have an impact equal to Vince. Are you thinking top 5 bnf or just playing a similar role? Quote
beelzebub 23,392 Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 All concerns about eligibility aside. I can only think of one main reason hes being looked. I think Goodwin sees him as a line breaker. Milkshake does appear to have a knack for finding space and instinctively moves FORWARD. These are things we need to do more. Time will tell i suppose. Mach5 4,768 Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Vince won a b&f at the crows, and Melky will be younger when he comes to us. Can't compare the two.. You definitely can if you're not talking about past performance, but what they will do. Quote
rjay 25,424 Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 If Goodwin & McCartney think he's worth it then we should trust them on this...my only reservation is what WADA have to say. 5 Quote

SaberFang 7,151 Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Surely Essendon are throwing in their third rounder. Surely... 1 Quote
KingDingAling 3,758 Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Surely Essendon are throwing in their third rounder. Surely... You would think so, Melksham is a very ordinary football player. I would ask for Essendons second rounder. 1 Quote
Wiseblood 24,637 Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Trade radio suggests this deal will be done for a second round pick tomorrow. That sounds about right to me. A first rounder was overs and a third rounder is probably a touch low. We are going to get something decent for Howe and I can see Melksham contributing just as much, if not more, than Howe has so it's a fair deal in that context. 2 Quote
Powell 52 Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Surely Essendon are throwing in their third rounder. Surely... god i hope so, will be a massive loss on our behalf if we pay that much for him Quote

_becks_ 35 Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 http://www.afl.com.au/trade/trade-talk second rounder according to trade radio... Quote
Adzman 2,154 Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Jeez, our second round pick is overs. The Demons are like the eager to please kid in the school yard. They roll over to please the popular kids (Collingwood, essendon) Can't recall a good outcome trading with essendon or Collingwood. They always sneak one past us. They would be loving a second rounder for melksham. 1 Quote
SaberFang 7,151 Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 /facepalm Essendon will be laughing their asses off behind closed doors. 2 Quote
Wiseblood 24,637 Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 He Isn't worth pick 25 though, late 2nd rounder at best I'm not exactly comfortable with the deal either but he isn't worth our first rounder, obviously, and he is worth more than our pick in the 40s. Unless we can get another pick this deal is about as fair as it's going to get. Quote
Mach5 4,768 Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 /facepalm Essendon will be laughing their asses off behind closed doors. And we will be openly in 18 months' time. 1 Quote
Bonkers 994 Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 He Isn't worth pick 25 though, late 2nd rounder at best Agree with this, we drafted in Vince for pick 20 odd, but we also drafted in Dawes for around the same. I think the Dons win this deal if its true. Quote
PaulRB 6,435 Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Not necessarily our first second rounder... 1 Quote
