It really shitzs me how quickly the weagles have gone up the ladder and we are still warming the bottom end of the ladder.

No. I see it as inspiration for what can happen when a team clicks. Hope our boys think the same.

50. Points up at 3/4 time.... Hard to see Hawks winning flag from here

Only way Hawks stay in the flag race is if the Swans upset the Dockers tomorrow so Hawthorn don't have to do another WA trip.

yeah but I'll keep watching for the Frawley fark ups.

His pressure and second efforts are phenomenal for such a big man.

Every hit out he directs...

Good to see James Frawley is really impacting this game. Go James !!!!!

Except they went from top 4 to bottom 4 in a season, picked up nik nat and co and now top 4 again.

Still think the draft should be done on wins (or ladder pos) over 3 years. Eliminates tanking, gives teams what they need.

Didnt they beat freo at home last time? I feel for Richmond. They would be wishing they were facing the hawks next week...

Chip has helped to give us one of the best young midfielders we have drafted in a long time and now helped to severely damage the Hawks chances of winning three on the trot.

I think I'm starting to like him again

Sure. It is all attitude

We have believed we can't win for years

Think Chips the only one there without a Premiership medallion.

BTW Cheney recalled for Crows.

I hope I'm wrong but I have a bad feeling that the Hawks will get their revenge in three weeks.

please no...

Sorry,its my negative Melbourne attitude.positive thoughts,positive thoughts,positive thoughts ...

I have a good feeling that it will be straight sets for the Hawks

that will be a night out

The MFC has 2 3peats

Pisss off Hawks

James Frawley has played one more final than me and I'm guessing he won't add to that margin. That said, he's made quite a difference to the Hawks line up.

Well now at least the finals got interesting. The Dawks will now have to really earn it, if they make it. Let's hope they don't.

Watching the replay now of West Coast/Hawthorn. Gee, it's awkward watching Frawley. I'm glad he doesn't play for us anymore. I'd take Gussy every day of the week.

Been saying all along, Frawley will cost Hawthorn the three-peat. He's fools gold and the Hawks arrogantly thought they could "save" him from the MFC, just like Blease and Geelong.

So, so great to see the pricks lose.

Can't believe Frawley wasn't subbed out.

HAwks had chances to get back into it here and have wasted chance after chance

Because Lake was just as bad and they couldn't figure where to hide them both so they subbed out Hale instead.

Could've hid them both behind Hale's forehead.

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

  • POSTGAME: Richmond

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
