thanks for giving us thr run down any wind advantage down there

Just as I always had faith in big Maxy, I have the same sort of feel about Fitzy.

He has all the tools to be a good player, great pace and ground skills for one so tall, good mark and kick.

Should only get better with age as most big men do.

Well done Tom Boyd, kicks the last goal to give footscray a 3pt win over port Melbourne, effectively ending ports finals campaign and locking in the scorps!

Coburg still a danger as they're making a run.

Casey must win today.

Forwards are Rush/Spencil on rotation, and Fitzy. Reckon Fitzy is only there because we had such a dearth of forward options last week to kick to, especially with King out.

Southern end for Willy this qtr which has the advantage of a mild breeze.

Though on a bike this morning could have sworn I was riding into a northerly gale.

Mitch White is building a solid repertoire in defence.

Another goal to Willy.

Scorps 5.5 toWilly 8.5 almost half time.

Toump is running around with a head bandage coming down low over his eyebrows. Must have copped a knock in the 1st qtr and possible cut / bleeding. Really can't say I have seen him much in the play so I'm staggered to hear he's had 15 touches.

Fitzy being trailed as a forward to (a) increase his versatility for us in the future or (b) increase his trade value?

I hope the former.

He was 'trialled' as a forward for years.

First score - goal in 3rd qtr to Willy after 12 mins of intense circle work up down and across the ground.

Posted

Toump went off injured after a head knock in a pack.

Billy Stretch is really impressing me this whole game. Marks strongly and uses it well.

Others who have been in the play are Spencil, Jordie, JKH and Newt. None have really turned the game in our favour and they have had possessions mostly by being put in the 'right' place to get a touch - on the ball.

Lovett spent the first qtr on the bench. Going ok now but nothing special so far. Couple of good things, couple of errors. Been outsized a little - he's not a tall kid.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
