Good on the Dogs

They lost Higgins, Cooney and Griffen to other clubs, lost their coach, Gia retired.

Lost possibly their best player to an ACL in preseason.

Signed Tom Boyd who doesn't really even fit in the team.

Great adversity story. Hope either them or the Tigers win an unlikely flag or at least get to a prelim

Fork the Toigs.

Fork 'em both actually.

If we can't win it , I don't want anyone to win it.

You left out that the Hawks lost too :)

Anyone else expecting a physical response from the Hawks next week? Clarke seemed very aggro at his presser after the game. I am hoping to see a few coat hangers and flying elbows from the usual suspects, perhaps the odd lifted knee as well. And a raft of suspensions would be great.

It's mathematically possible. But who wants to see the Hawks cruise to another flag? Let alone another Hawks-Swans GF

I still have my money on Freo. They have set cruise control on idle for the past several months on many games. Now starting to rest players and will get a few back for the finals. Hawthorn may be peaking too early and WC suddenly don't look so formidable. A Hawks win this week and Freo continuing as is may see us playing a second string Freo in round 22.

Geeze the media's hard on for Richmond is at full mast now.

I'll believe they're a contender when they win a final.

I’ll believe they’re a contender when they win the Premiership. Nothing else will convince me.

Richmond supporters would do well to adopt this mindset also.

How the fark did we lose to the Saints and Essendon?

Htf did we lose to these [censored]?

We kicked ourselves out of both games. Three weeks we kicked 7 goals 18, 8 goals 12 and 6 goals 10. You can't win games with conversion like that. Even in the collingwood game we only broke even at 13.13. So many easy shots missed, it is going to cost you games and that's just what it did.

Smart tanking.

We know we've got those goons covered, but we need a top 5 pick to trade for that A+ midfielder. So we missed some sitters and didn't put anyone back v the Saints at Etihad.

We could afford to beat the Pies because we knew the Bulldogs would hammer the Bombers and they'd drop below us anyway.

Disclaimer: This is joke, so if you're reading this Brock McLean, don't go ratting me out you rat [censored].

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
