GAME DAY at Alice Springs - Round 9

Featured Replies

To 3/4 time the score worm for our game looks uncannily like the US stock market crash circa 1930.

Initial wavering, rebound, then implosion, dead cat bounce, and a final drop.

Geez we could do with a couple of clearance guns the likes of Ebert and Gray.

I'm glad you said to 3/4 time. Even the US Stock market recovered after the great depression within about 3 to 4 years.

Unfortunately we've been stuck in our own depression for 9 years now.

embarrassing

what I hate is the instant reply when we finally do score. Cancels out any gain, in confidence as well as scoreboard. I hate that.

For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. It seems every team knows about Newton's laws but Melbourne.

Dont you love how we play sides into form.

Bail is such a joke of a footballer. How he has played 60 plus games sums up this football club.

Said this 2 years ago and got pulverised on this site.

You cant shovel gutz into a weakling, end of story, weaklings dont develop or change their habits under pressure.

YEP over and over again No apologies here

McDonald the first absolute stinker of the season.

Jeez we've got Some dud payers. They (port) seem to slot them at will. We actually have looked knackered since half way through the second quarter.

Jack Watts. FMD. Just tried to tackle without his arms.

Ease up. Still practicing the cable tie tackle drill from last week

I'm hurting too but are people really that surprised? Port are the third best team in the league and we are... Still bottom four material.

Please, No more Bail & Watts, thanks

add Howe to that list as well please

Oh Tom

I love TMac but WTF was that?

Pathetic. When the going gets tough too many of our players go missing. Rohan bail, seriously forgot he was playing. That last passage from Tom McDonald is THE single worst piece of play I have ever seen in the AFL. Wtf was he trying to do

Shithouse

And we will stay there for as long as we have so many spuds running around for this club....which i fear will be a mighty long time yet.

Understand we have a long way to go ... But to capitulate like this is a concern as it reflects on our senior leadership group wtf are they doing???

Our players were wrecked halfway through the second. Misson has a lot to answer for

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
