ANB ... looking good. Another week or two and he could be knocking on the door. Good to see Jack W amongst it.

For all the Watts' bashing that i do, i will give him his earned kudos.

Smart move on his part dropping himself. At least this way, he might enjoy his footy a little more in a team that's at least competitive.

Take it to the next level, ANB. Got big wraps on this kid if he can make the ones. Huge competitor and a massive upgrade on the likes of Bail/M Jones.

Hes playing in the 3rds FFS ! That should be expected.

FFS he can only play where he is selected. How about a "well done" instead of constant negativity. How many goals have YOU kicked at VFL level? How about - he has to start somewhere. Bloody hell !!!

Can anyone comment on ANB?

Nothing inspiring in the listed better players after the senior's drubbing.

Didn't see the game today 'mono' but looking at last week I would hope he plays at least another 5 or 6 at Casey and get in the bests for 3 of those before he's considered.

I know the regular suspects don't stack up well but we need these kids to develop well before bringing them through.

Newton did not play - wasn't named - is he injured?. How did Terlich go - will he get promoted to the seniors next week? Riley likely to get a call up. Probably want to give ANB a few more VFL games unless he is swapped with Stretch and named as sub - although Vandenberg looks stuffed and probably could drop to sub. Is one VFL game enough to put Watts back in the seniors?? Jamar or Gawn may be considered for Spencer.

Sorry but let's not get too excited about a player in the development league who is on an AFL list that wins 4 games a year, when he gets six in the VFL he will deserve a pump up.

Football is his full time job, he should be kicking bags of goals in the development games.

What exactly are you whining about ?, a few people saying its good to see King a few goals in the development league, yeah, ok

CASEY PAYS AGAIN FOR SLOW START by KC from Casey

The Casey Scorpions were held goalless in the opening term for the second week in a row and once again paid heavily for their slow starting ways by crashing to defeat at the hands of VFL stand alone powerhouse Port Melbourne at North Port Oval on Saturday.

The conditions were perfect for football, the sun was shining but the goals weren't coming for the Scorpions in the early going even though twin towers in Mark Jamar and Max Gawn were winning the hit outs in the ruck. They could easily have had a good lead at quarter time had they made the most of their opportunities and were later to rue yet another slow start.

Still the 11 point quarter time deficit was easily overturned in the second term when the visitors dominated. Recruit Jordan Moncrieff kicked a goal on debut and Casey was full of run with midfielders Jordie McKenzie and Aidan Riley working hard. When Mark Jamar combined with Jack Watts for a nice goal, the Scorpions were in front and looking strong as they took a five point lead into half time.

Unfortunately, that was pretty much that for the day. The teams fought tooth and nail in the third term with Casey suffering a bad loss when defender Jack Fitzpatrick copped a heavy knock and was taken to hospital by ambulance. The Borough gained the ascendancy late in the quarter to lead by 11 points at the final break and then, their superior knowledge of the ground conditions took over and they romped away winning by 23.

Casey hosts Richmond for the first time next week in a game scheduled to start at 6.00pm.

Interesting that neither Jamar or Gawn named amongst the better Casey players.

Jamar seems to be at the end and Gawn has never got started.

Says a lot about our list

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round.
