Went to U2 last night and three rows behind me were Neitz, Nicho, Brock, Biz, Rivers and Robbo. They all seemed to be enjoying themselves. Probably the most enjoyable time they've had at Telstra Dome this year!

All seemed to be enjoying the show - clapping, saw Neita singing etc. None were drinking which was good to see I guess.

Interesting that Brock and Rivers seem to spend more time hanging out with the older blokes like Neitz and Robbo rather than with the "younger" crowd. Wonder why that is.

It's because they are too good to be hanging out with average footballers ;)

Seriously though, I don't think you're right. I've seen Brock hanging around some of the younger crowd that live in my area.

I saw Matthew Richardson at Borders, buying The Game: Penetrating the Secret Society of Pickup Artists by Neil Strauss.

I guess it was a birthday gift for someone. ^_^

I just saw Paul Gardner at my work

I saw Carroll out after the Adelaide loss last year (the one we were meant to win over there when they had half their side out). In retrospect maybe I shouldn't have approached him and just let him cool off, but it wasn't like I was rude or anything, just said bad luck on the loss, was a real shame blah blah blha. Well, he did not want a bar of me, nor did the bevie of chicks that were hanging off him. Ah well.

Thought I should let you all know about my meeting with the captain.

I was attending a regular pub trivia competition. One of my mates, knowing that I was a big dees fan, told me to look behind me and take a look, hinting that it was someone pretty special. Naturally, I was pretty excited to see that it was big Neita. My word he's a massive bloke!

I kept a lid on it, and although I really wanted to go up and have a chat to him, I thought it would be the decent thing to let him just have dinner and enjoy the company of those with him. Also, I would've naturally copped it from my mates, so it was decided that I would just be content being in his presence.

However, to my amazement, an older guy I know through school turned up, and went over to Neita's table and started talking to him! This was good news, as it gave me a segway to go up and talk to my friend, and then get him to introduce me to Neita. So, with some courage built up, I went over and said hi to my mate, and chatted for a few minutes. Unfortunately, the introduction never came, so I trundled back to my friends, defeated.

Thankfully, one of my friends went up to the guy I knew, introduced himself, and suggested that perhaps I would like to be introduced to David, as I was a big fan and had been wanting to all night. So awkwardly, I was called over, and I was pretty nervous/embarassed. There was no need to be, as Neita was fantastic. I asked him how his knee was going, how they were dealing with all the injuries, and just a few questions about the boys. He told me he was up and running again, and that many of the boys were on the mend and hoping to atone for the poor start to the year. He even asked me about how often we came to trivia, how long I had supported the Dees for, and whether I'd been to many games this year. He was awesome. What a great guy! This really made my night.

Another one of my mates ran into Jared Rivers more recently and said he was a top bloke too.

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
