Am I the only one who thinks its about time we finally drafted someone with the first name Angus?

prolly

The Gus has a good technique..envelope your opponent and drop...using his weight. Is an effective way of slowing someone.

Bradshaw, petracca, Viney, jones, hogan, all blokes that hit he contest like raging bulls, I love it

Who's Bradshaw?

They're so close they even hold hands. Awwwww... cute!!!

When I saw this photo I was wondering if it had been practised/rehearsed it look like getting wrapped up by an annaconda, and not likely to give away a free.

just wondering

that wouldn't be a mason handshake, would it?

Very Illuminati(ng)

not at the melbourne club cutters

Love this picture. It's been doing the rounds on my email this week too.

That vision of Jones from Friday night was actually quite good. Would love to see the un edited version.

That's our ball, old chap. Now give it back or we will have to hurt you.

Looks like there is a bit of free space for another tat on Jones left leg maybe he could dedicate it to the man in question...

Thats fricken awesome, love the pfffttt every time he disposes of the ball...lol

Amazing footage, so glad we have a captain such as this....what about that handball receive from JKH as he sidesteps the pack and skews one off to result in a mark and goal....Champion stuff Jones

Have watched that vid a few times now.

I bet Jonesy reckons we can beat Freo if they are all mentally in the game.

We can beat Freo. We shown in the NAB cup that we could be competitive with Freo.

The issue in that game was consistency - we only played a quarter and a half, then shut it down.

Against sides like Freo when you shut it down, they make you pay. All good sides make you pay when you drop your guard, Freo are a very good side.

It will be a big test for our lads, but we need to focus, keep our heads, and stick to our game for a full 4 quarters. That is our best chance.

Nathan Jones would be confident that we are capable for doing that, but actually putting it into practice is the big challenge we face.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
