Fine moring this morning

Everybody on the track except Hunt, Petracca, Trengove

Lots of stoppage drills with more and less defenders again

Lots of ball movement drills again, with more and less defenders

Match simulation, not split into AFL or Casey, just three teams

McCartney was still working with Max King ad Max Gawn when everybody else had left, including me

Amusing bit at the start, Shannon Byrnes produced a Dallas Cowboys footy helmet for Nev Jetta to wear after three belts to the head in consecutive weeks, wore it on warm up lap until he spotted the cameras

Pics on Twitter Demonpk

Any questions feel free

Cheers Pete. Last training before we [censored] Adelaide.

They are never down, there are too many upbeat characters now, the drills were very good today, just the occasional [censored] up but that happens in games as well, another solid two hour session

Saty I watched Fellini's Satyricon last night, now that is a weird movie, grotesque! The Devil Inside, dark. No accounting for taste I suppose. Thanks for the training report.

Are they resting Brayshaw during the week a bit more since he has been playing or does it seem like he is coping alright with the loads.

Nah, Brayshaw was one of the best today, except at the end when he took Jonesy on in a goal kicking comp again, must be slightly masochistic, he must also be doing some serious weights, his body shape is changing every time I see him

fellini is a pretentious [merchant banker]

compulsory viewing for university students, the intellectual left and inmates of mental asylums

A few observations

1. jones and vince didnt join in at the start. I can understand Vince, but it did make me wonder if there's something nqr with Jones

2. we have so far to go... McCarthy was teaching them how to use numbers around the ball, how to fill space etc etc. Its a long way from ingrained for some of ours.

3. H. runs at full intensity in the drills. Not all do.

4. Our skills are variable ... some cant hit the target in the drills not sure how they'll do it in the heat of battle

Brayshaw will be a beauty, by the way!

Jones was going full tilt at the end, I asked him as he walked off just for the sake of it, he said he was fine, Vince did 3/4 of the drills, Watts also didn't do everything, but said he was ok,

Going off topic there chap and nailing your colours to the mast, any opinion of Zeffirelli or Polanski, two of my faves

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
