When will Melbourne break these embarrassing records?

Featured Replies

When a team gets better hoodoos tend to get broken. The cats had the wood over the hawks then the trend reversed and once again the cats prevailed. The MFC have two straight wins against GWS and Collingwood.

Another streak: we haven't had a winning record at the end of any round (other than Round 1) since Round 6 2011 (we were 3-1-2 after beating Adelaide by 96 points).

And the club record for contested possessions broken while we're at it.

Oh wow, really. That's pretty neat.

When was the last 3 win streak...2006 ? Although don't expect a win next week. "Home" game at etihad makes me sick, if it was at the G different story!

Don't get me started on this [censored] home game at Etihad against a team that plays all their home games at Etihad, thus having a complete advantage.

Awesome work by the AFL yet again.

At least we beat the Pies playing "away" at the "G"! The AFL should be thanked for giving us a home ground advantage against the in-form Saints (an opponent to be feared/respected in comparison to the rabble of the last two weeks)!

p.s. This time next week I am looking forward to beating our three-match hoodoo and achieving a record membership for our efforts.

I just want the damn 2-in-a-row monkey off our backs.

Done!

How does three in a row grab you?

Next is the St Kilda hoodoo - no wins since the 2006 Elimination Final.

After that, let's beat a top four team.

Or are we taking things one hoodoo at a time?

Yes one at a time WJ.

Well...nope.

We did have a player kick 7 goals though, no idea when the last time was that happened. So does that count?

It would have been massive if he had kicked nine (instead of one behind and one out on the full from set shots)!

when was the last 3 out of 4 wins?

In 2011, same period where we had the most recent consecutive wins before this year (beat Freo Round 13, Richmond Round 14, lost to the Dogs Round 15, then beat Port round 17 after a bye).

We've scored 100 points in four of our last five games. First time since Rounds 10-13, 2006.

Great stat. We just missed out on the ton by less than a goal against St Kilda last week as well.

Said during the commentary that it was our first time past 150 points since round 6, 2004

Actually vs GC at the Gabba in 2011. Believed it was 159-69 but it was just GC's 2nd AFL game so maybe that has a bit of an * against it.

A couple more streaks to add to the list:

Beat Port Adelaide - last win Round 17, 2011 (7 game losing streak)

Win in the NT - last win Round 17, 2011 (7 game losing streak).

Beat the same team twice in one season (2010 apparently)
