The other thing from today which I thought was quite bizarre, I saw Saty on the sidelines on other side of the field taking photos then he walked off and hid behind a tree ...

Don't know and don't want to know what was going on there.

He saw Nev Jetta hit a bullet like pass and went behind a tree. You can make your own assumptions from there...

wrong on so many levels ( but a little bit funny)

Self reflection is important.

Best get a diary.

Why not a mirror?

Was it a bright sunny day? Probably finding some shade so he can check the images on the camera's screen.

All eyes possibly on Hogan , though id be content with a "good solid year" as opposed the heroic saviour scenario. Its actually Dawes im thinking might be due a really good season.

Great reporting btw..cheers

- I know this may offend, but on what I've seen to date with Hogan he is not our superstar this year. He is just a kid still learning. He will bring a contest and another option up forward but will not star, for this year at least.

Finally, some sanity.

On the Hogan topic, there was a priceless moment at the end of one of the drills where Hoges happened to have the ball on the 50. Watts and the few of the boys started to get into him saying the sirens gone and we're 5 points down....

He nailed it easily!

He trained fully today ?
I know he was inside Monday I was talking to Mahoney about it. Do you think they will risk him v Bulldogs?

Yep - did everything and looked ready to go

He's named in the squad.

any news on howe

What about Brayshaw?

Yep, did full session when I was there. Must admit though, he looks to be a while off being up to standard as he made a few errors, but may have been an off day.

Don't encourage him Nut, he'll think he is funny, at least mine is in my trousers and not on my shoulders

Was sheltering from the wind actually, at my age you have to be careful about rheumatism and arthritis

Missing from today Howe and Kent (who I notice is not named, got nothing when I asked)

Jack Trengove was out waling laps, big smile for my photo for Twitter, said everything is still tracking fine

Got a big thumbs up from Jesse Hogan, did nearly the whole session, did not look troubled at all, laughed when I told him not to miss any sessions as it caused a pandemic of concern

The leadership group pulled all the players into a group during one of the ball movement drills, it was shithouse, coaches stood aside, words were said and after that it improved

Nathan Jones killed Angus Brayshaw in the goal kicking comp AGAIN, told him it was starting to verge on workplace bullyiing

Any questions feel free

Sometimes he tries too hard, bit like Viney in his first year, when he just relaxes he looks like a top player

Thanks TDI, how were the rucks travelling? Going up against big Willy this weekend, would like to see him convincingly beat!!

Without meaning to tempt fate, I think that it's a miracle that we have so many participating in full training at this time of the year. At least that's one true indicator of where we are at and it gives cause for hope.

I also thought that McCartney's session was illuminating and positive. At one point, he was giving specific instructions to Tommy Mc after a play and, in spite of Tom not wanting to make eye contact, BM laboured the point until he got the acknowledgement he was after. Sometimes a player can think that he doesn't need coaching...he is wrong.

Really looking forward to the game this week. Hope everyone is aware that they can get a free AFL live pass to watch it on their phone or tablet....works well.

edit missed a bit out

Any news on Vince Saty? I know he joined some training but just wonder if there is any other news.

No it's not, it's just the third year of Misson and Co, he promised

He did bits and pieces and then worked his arse off on far side of the paddock running with Shannon Byrnes, not far away I reckon

As for Howe, again not a medical or fitness expert, Howie said the issue was only identified with scans rather than him knowing he had damaged his hammy and something about it being inside, a sort of not normal hamstring injury, think this is leading to the ultra caution, if somebody would like to be a bit more enlightening feel free

It's actually Misson's fourth year.

Yes but he said it would take the next three years, we are now starting to see the difference, when you speak to the players they can't speak highly enough of the fitness staff now, all are feeling stronger, faster and can maintain the rage for a lot longer

  • NON-MFC: Round 07

Round 7 gets underway in iconic fashion with the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster. The high-flying Magpies will be looking to solidify their spot atop the ladder, while the Bombers are desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top eight. Later that evening, Fremantle will be out to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss to the Demons, facing a hungry Adelaide side with eyes firmly set on breaking into the top four. Saturday serves up a triple-header of footy action. The Lions will be looking to consolidate their Top 2 spot as they head to Marvel Stadium to clash with the Saints. Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. The day wraps up with a fiery encounter in Canberra, where the Giants and Bulldogs renew their bitter rivalry. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans. Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

  • PREGAME: Richmond

The Dees are back at the MCG on Thursday for the annual blockbuster ANZAC Eve game against the Tigers. Can the Demons win back to back games for the first time since Rounds 17 & 18 last season? Who comes in and who goes out?
