FAREWELL JEREMY HOWE

Adding to that there's roughly 5 quality KPP players this year that will most likely go top 15 with the possibility of two of them going within the first couple of picks. Leaving us with a quality midfielder. Our last two drafts have good.

Aren't we on track for pick 5?

I'm not sure they're quality KPP's 'Al', they are certainly the better players in this years crop.

I rated McCartin last year and I think he'll be ok but none of this years crop of talls have really grabbed me, admittedly on limited viewing.

Most of the senior contract players don't get match payments, they are paid a salary of x weather they play or not. Fairly sure the bonuses also come under a different banner as the cap has two levels, one for the salaries and a slightly higher total for the 'extras'.

All players get match payments, it's in their CBA. From what I can find, all players, plus injured players, get a match payment.

according to terry Wallace both the lions and blues are looking at compensation picks straight after their first picks for loosing luenberg and kruezer which would slide us down to pick 9

Fair call, we won't know for a few years after the fact. My mate who's involved at TAC level is a big wrap for Kieran Collins.

I'm hoping what plays into our favour is that as we know KPP are a gamble but one that clubs are forced to take. Carlton and Brisbane will hopefully go tall.

I hadn't even thought of that. We can't complain we got the double last year.

We done well with Salem, hopefully we can find another.

Well we would like something of worth in return.

well if the $uns win Lynch this end of season, we would want Prestia in the return bout, shirley ?

but maybe this EoS, we could try to grab an O'Meara ?

Would we trade...

Howe to Lions for Tom Cutler or their pick 21 (their 2nd round).

Howe to Giants for Adam Tomlinson or their pick 28 (their 2nd round).

Howe to Suns for Trent Mckenzie or pick 23 (their 2nd round).

Who the $&@& is Tom Cutler?

So potentially the lions could get pick 2 for Leuenberger?

Frawley was a joke for pick 3 but my god no one could defend that!

I think we are looking at recruiting Plowman as half back who can roll into a midfielder liked David Mundy.

This is a big reason why Todd Viney is a big fan of him.

He is a keen Melbourne supporter too.... i know.. doesn't mean anything.

I like this idea, replacement for garland.

We'd want his preferred destination to be a northern state where he has more value, and I pick him as being the sort of bogan who likes the sounds of QLD.

I think some are overrating the value of pick 6, in this draft especially.

I'm particularly unenthused about the options this year.

So now he is a bogan???

Good Lord Some people speak drivel

I have put his stats up before.....I would hate to lose him.

that may be a good nickname if he decides to stay with the Dees

I agree on Collins, I think he'll be one to surprise being picked early, or in years to come we will ask how he lasted so long in the draft.

But I also rate Plowman and Tomlinson more than most, obviously.

They are about the right age to begin hitting their straps, like Tyson did for us pre-injury.

Pick 2 for an injury prone ruckman that has never even sniffed the AA team.. would be a disgrace

Do you want all of our players to leave?

Imagine if someone said that to you at your work? You'd be out the door like a shot..

Welll its just a suggestion but No

Id be inclined to make sure I earned every cent but I always did that.

I was also on comparatively smaller salaries where every dollar counted.

and I would not be losing anything for lack of performance.

I do sometimes think entertainers are overpaid and dont value the earnings as much.

Not for those draft picks especially when Gold Coast offered pick 6 last year.

It was GWS.

Howe has devalued to a 2nd round choice. His 2015 has been poor.

Would be lucky to get that

Plowman for Howe would be good ...

Great.....You would swap a 100 gamer for a bloke who can't get on the park????

Has played 19 games and kicked 1 goal.....Has played a lot in the Giants seconds side which is a crap competition.

Haven't we learned that just because you are picked at No 3 in the draft, you must be better.

Talk about the other side always being greener.

Dom Tyson had played just 13 AFL games when we got him

Just sayin'

I still think to the right side Howe will get us a decent return.

Might still get a first round offer. If it wasn't for a failed medical, Richmond was prepared to part with pick 12 last year for Trengove who hadn't played a good game since 2011 and was barely on the park at all last year.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: West Coast

Epic battle alert.  This Sunday, Casey Fields hosts a coach’s showdown pitting the wits of the master Mick Stinear (92 games, 71.7% win rate) against his protégé Daisy Pearce (16 games, 43.8%). Still early in her coaching journey, Daisy’s record doesn’t yet reflect her impact — but she’s already the best-performed coach at West Coast.Dais’ is mythic.  Like Katniss Everdeen, everyone either wants to kiss her, kill her (sporting metaphor) or be her.  Toothers Daisy Pearce is a role model, someone admired for their heart, humility and humour.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.
