Training - Wednesday 26th November, 2014

So am i, so I will make sure I get pictures of the new recruits and put them on my Twitter account for all who want to see

before you begin your usual oldest fanboy in the world routine and pester them from the boundary at training....congratulations as well, that snide comment got you onto my list of posters I don't read

He was [censored] off he got glandular, felt he made real progress last season, coaching staff agreed, hence his second year, put him right back at the beginning of pre season again, hoping to get the weight back on in next week or two and have a program set he can follow over the Xmas break and catch up

You have no issues constantly berating and condescending posters for negative views of playersyet as soon as one of us give you a little negative feedback you crack the sads. Newsflash this is a public forum and no view unless it contradicts forum rules is off limits. You're a hypocrit with a short fuse and bad attitude and I couldn't give a stuff if you don't read my posts.

Interesting that the bloke you call the worlds oldest fanboy won't be reading your posts but I bet you will be reading his training reports

Listen, the amount of derision Saty seems to attract is for the most part unwarranted, in my opinion. If you don't like the fact that he sees fit to support and defend players he thinks are unjustly maligned, then don't read his reports... simple. I for one appreciate his efforts and have no issue with his level of support; and I would guarantee that if you came under the amount of "attacks" he is the target of, I'm pretty sure you would be cracking a case of the sads as well.

Given a choice of Saty and his unwavering support and love of every player on our list as opposed to many other who see "spud" and "never want to see him in a Melbourne jumper again" for every player on our list - I'm going with Saty....

I like his training reports, and don't have an issue with defending players, but when I see a poster constantly belittle others for negative views I call them out on it. Saty has no problem condescending anybody with a contradictory point of view so I thought I'd give him a little back. Seems he can dish it out but can't take it lol

Thanks chaps for your support, I just don't continue to read some posters input, I am over discussing,, the negativity amazes me at times...... the list I don't read is growing..........

I do the training reports to hopefully give a bit of background/info to our interstate and overseas supporters

A lot of the players actually enjoy the interaction with the supporters (bloody Garland photobombing my pic of Jeff Garlett)

But I also talk to them to try and get some true info or check out why they came off the track early.

There was actually a 'funny' exchange on Wednesday, Dunny, of all people, was near the fence and a watcher asked him a question, obviously not about him, Dunny turned around and said paraphrase "ask him yourself, he won't bite"......it was probably about Jesse Hogan

I thought I would answer this last one, I only posted that I won't be readiing any more of your posts, feel free to do the same, you seem to carrying on quite a lot for something that really doesn't bother you.........MFC is my team, I don't like negative things being said about it, public forum, I will say so, some of the negative posters deserve belittling, sorry

I don't ignore posters, I'm bigger than that. If I have an issue I usually address it and move on.

Can you promise to leave all the new recruits alone for a little bit and allow them sufficient time to acclimatise to their new surroundings? Thanks

Hi Saty we are never going to agree on some players but I hope I don't get personal with insults well I try not to anyway.

Appreciate your reports keep it up.

Gee...don't give up,, do you, Billy Stretch, for one loves a chat, must have posed for at least a dozen photos already, you don't get it do you

Can you promise to leave all the new recruits alone for a little bit and allow them sufficient time to acclimatise to their new surroundings? Thanks

I am sure that if the players don't want to chat they won't ?

We all appreciate the reports of OUR club and we should all realise that reacting to belittling with more belittling is pointless and self-defeating.

Saty can ask the players whatever he likes, the players can politely ask him to GAGF or talk to him, posters can have any (non-defamatory) opinion they wish, and all of this can happen without this BS.

But rpfc, without the BS this place becomes boring, nobody wants that :)

Interestingly I go to the occasional training session and feel awkward approaching the players (although I had a good chat with Shannon Byrnes last year) for a talk so D.T.I. interaction with them is really quite interesting.

A friend of mine in the UK was box office manager of the Premier League football team that he followed. I once said to him that he must love the connection that he has with the players on a day to day basis around the club. His response was interesting saying basically that to him they were gods on the pitch and he did not want to get to know them in the flesh in case they turned out to be dick heads.

I think that the truth is somewhere in the middle reflecting society as a whole so please D.T.I. keep it up!

The question obviously wasn't about Chris Lewis....

Could have been about Dom but obviously not Mike.

I for one probably wouldn't be able to talk to them. I'd be too nervous. I know they are real people like anyone else, but the thing is I feel like I have a personal relationship with them because I watch them every week during the season and watch their interviews.

They obviously don't know squat about me. It feels lopsided and I'd just feel awkward talking to them.

Honestly if Jack Viney came up to me and said "G'day, thanks for supporting the MFC", I'd be so shell shocked I'd just stare at him.

I mean, I'm 10 years older than Jack, but I admire his guts (and guns, lol) and would probably giggle like a school girl if I spoke to him. I name all my Geodudes "Viney" (pokemon reference for the younger ones out there). How weird is that?

This is a Geodude for those who don't know. Basically a rock with arms. That's Viney!

Saty do you know if the players we draft tonight will be training tomorrow?

It'd be good to get an early start...........

The few players in contention for our picks 2 & 3 won't be there because they're on the Gold Coast.

(apologies to Satyr for butting in)

wheres the dedication....red eye special first thing friday....surely !!!

You had to pick one of the nicest guys who is always up for a chat, Jack would love the cartoon, do you mind if I put it on Twitter tomorrow, I told him about his guns gaining a following and asked him to do the very pose for Twitter, he immediately did it

Sorry Jack, I was just joking. Should have put an emoticon to make it obvious to you next time......

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.
