If anyone would like to join a league and not have to worry about finding a good comp to join, now is the time to do it. Leaving it until the day before the comp begins doesnt mean you will get into our comp league. Starting a new league for just 3 players isnt worth the trouble, leaving you to your own devices.

If we know beforehand who wants to join, we can set arrange the Leagues to accomodate everyone. The DT leagues are tiered meaning you should be in a league suited to your ability or the amount of time you want to spend to play for sheep stations. :) Best of all, you play against fellow Demon supporters and not some random in a public league. If you have been 'lurking' around Demonland, and have yet to signup, do it now, gives you the option of join the SC or DT comp Leagues.

As for existing coaches for 2015. it makes the job a lot easlier to finalise the leagues if you can CONFIRM asap.

Thx to everyone who has done so already, but still a fair number to confirm

PS: Dont forget, if you change your team name from 2014, could you post your new team name,

New players : I require the name of your team.

Thx to all.

  • 2 weeks later...

I just signed up for 2015.

Have you created the leagues yet and if so what is the DIV 2 league?

Good to see most coaches returning. :)

We will give Real Dream Team a crack for this year, I doubt AFL Fantasy will be up to speed for 2015. It was a bit of disaster last year.

IF interest remains for this year, and going into 2016, a review / vote might be the way to go for preferences for 2016. I had real probs staying online, amongst a heap of other issues, then couldnt get everyone's final score tally for the year. It was a nightmare.

All the league names shall remain the same name as last year. I'll stick with them being named after the 3 x MFC membership packages. Unless someone has a better idea for the league names.

The web sites for SC and DT dont open for a few more weeks. But I still need confirmations coming in, asap. I (we?) have to organise the numbers to make up the league(s). so the sooner we can....... guys, post your confirmation or interest to join in ,if you are not in a league yet.

I'll keep updating the confirmations for everyone, so keep checking the 1st page, to make sure you havent been overlooked.

Thx guys and gals? :)

Do we have league codes to join?

TRIDENTS (DIV 2)

Atm there are no league codes available, still waiting on more confirmations and any new players, then start to finalise the leagues, then the codes will be sent. I'm waiting on RealDT to open their website for 2015.

In the meantime as of today, AFL Fantasy is open. feel free to pick your team, if you intend on playing AFL and RealDT BUT dont anything else for the moment.

Where do we sign up to RealDT?

A reasonable question to ask I guess. It hasnt offically opened for 2015. I doubt you can register atm. I can login and see last years team etc. but thats about it.

AFL Fantasy have been a bit sneaky and beat everyone else to the punch. It gave me a chance to looj around, its looks pretty, but dont be fooled. I still am leaning towards RealDT for this year.

If you had assistant coach for RDT last year you can access the team picker on that site. I believe it normally opens in about a week or so. Biggest changes that I can see so far for RDT is that there are 3 bench spots for mids and only 1 bench spot for the rucks. Could make it interesting...

Hi All

AFL Fantasy has opened. And not trying to derail the official DL comp but I have just started a league on AFL Fantasy. They are offering a Free AFL Live Pass to Coaches who start a league and get it filled before a certain date. If anyone would like to join a league prior to the official DL league here is the Invitation Code

9F9L5VUH

Also I hope to be helping DV with the Official DL Dream Team league codes over the coming weeks - so look out for those in your PMs

Cheers, S.

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.
