MFC MEMBERSHIP - SEASON 2015

Featured Replies

May as well use this thread...

I just arrived home from work and my membership pack for next year was in the mail.

They always say it'll be before Christmas, but first week of December was a nice surprise!

Good job memberships team! *thumbs up*

Any surprise in there JTR?

There's a card for a program called "Melbourne Rewards"

http://www.melbournerewards.com.au/

Free to join and members get 1000 bonus points, though no idea what any of that means as I have signed up or looked into it yet.

Other that that just the usual stuff... fridge magnet fixture, stickers & lanyard, which is decent quality again.

Nathan Jones on the Membership card.

Oh and the calendar..

Jan - Grimes

Feb - Jones

Mar - Dawes

April - Vince

May - Viney

June - Watts

July - Tyson

Aug - Dunn

Sept - Howe

Oct - Garland

Nov - Cross

Dec - McDonald

Looking good

Imagine what a win over Gold Coast on the G in round 1 would do for membership

Too bad the MFC are allergic to winning a round 1 games

Go to page 1 of this thread!!

20509 on the 26th of Nov. We passed 20k at a similar time last year.

Context:

10/12/2011 - 19,656

10/12/2012 - 19,393

11/12/2013 - 22,105

To save you turning back

1000 ahead same time compared to last year

Now would be a better time than ever to announce Jonesy re-signing. Christmas around the corner, a few would be waiting for it. Would expect membership to crack the 25k by Christmas!

Am I suffering MFCSS or should I be nervous about looking at Garland on the calendar in October 2015?

There was a gathering of Demonlanders at Wongs tonight, but the code of silence applies --- what goes on at Wongs stays at Wongs (except to say that the the banana fritter population is in mourning after their losses tonight )

Please tell me the discussions are a lot better round the "real life" dinner table, compared to the online rubbish we are subjected to on here.

No, the one in Elsternwick, and the stomach is fine this morning.

Yes, that is the case (despite my best efforts to lower the tone around the dinner table :) )

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

There was a time during the current Melbourne cycle that goes back to before the premiership when the club was the toughest to beat in the fourth quarter. The Demons were not only hard to beat at any time but it was virtually impossible to get the better them when scores were close at three quarter time. It was only three or four years ago but they were fit, strong and resilient in body and mind. Sadly, those days are over. This has been the case since the club fell off its pedestal about 12 months ago after it beat Geelong and then lost to Carlton. In both instances, Melbourne put together strong, stirring final quarters, one that resulted in victory, the other, in defeat. Since then, the drop off has been dramatic to the point where it can neither pull off victory in close matches, nor can it even go down in defeat  gallantly.

  • CASEY: Footscray

At twenty-four minutes into the third term of the game between the Casey Demons and Footscray VFL at Whitten Oval, the visitors were coasting. They were winning all over the ground, had the ascendancy in the ruck battles and held a 26 point lead on a day perfect for football. What could go wrong? Everything. The Bulldogs moved into overdrive in the last five minutes of the term and booted three straight goals to reduce the margin to a highly retrievable eight points at the last break. Bouyed by that effort, their confidence was on a high level during the interval and they ran all over the despondent Demons and kicked another five goals to lead by a comfortable margin of four goals deep into the final term before Paddy Cross kicked a couple of too late goals for a despondent Casey. A testament to their lack of pressure in the latter stages of the game was the fact that Footscray’s last ten scoring shots were nine goals and one rushed behind. Things might have been different for the Demons who went into the game after last week’s bye with 12 AFL listed players. Blake Howes was held over for the AFL game but two others, Jack Billings and Taj Woewodin (not officially listed as injured) were also missing and they could have been handy at the end. Another mystery of the current VFL system.

  • PREGAME: Brisbane

The Demons head back out on the road in Round 10 when they travel to Queensland to take on the reigning Premiers and the top of the table Lions who look very formidable. Can the Dees cause a massive upset? Who comes in and who goes out?

  • POSTGAME: Hawthorn

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.
